It's a not a great squad but we are actually lucky to have it (sadly enough). With the non existent support we have from the owners, things could/ should be even worse. With asset stripping and no investment, we should be guaranteed league one. We might... might just survive.

At least for the fans that do still go (not myself) Graham and Emnes could be an interesting partnership to watch until Christmas.

If you read what I wrote earlier in answer to jim you will see that I said there were passionate fans who go to every game and passionate fans who haven't given up who are boycotting.

So what are you doing Stuart? I'm happy with my position so I assume you are happy with the plan of action you are taking, which I would assume is boycotting at the very least.

I believe Stuart is still a ST holder but I could be wrong

They mortgage land they don't own, what's the problem

I know it'll mean we end up bust but I hope the whole parcel the old man may have grabbed gets pulled from under them and the whole corporation folds.

I'm sure they've got plenty squirrelled away in far away places to be ok but at least we'd be done with them.

I'm looking forward to seeing Samuelsen in a Rovers shirt. He looks like my sort of player. An entertainer and hopefully a winner.

That's like landing on the moon, realising you've run out of rocket fuel and deciding to admire the view.

There's nothing to look forward to, in my view. Except Venky's leaving.

Maybe the view is worth it?

I think the idea is they take a mortgage on the land and not the football club, they then turn the dosh into shares, ooops if we go bust they lose all the money

i know this is off topic but just to remind us of the mess we are in take a look at this article from 2013 in Fobes India magazine. Not sure if the link will work but if you are interested just google Forbes India Blackburn Rovers and you should find it.

what ?

do you not keep up with the Rao's dodgy activities then

Nope pal I have no idea about them mortgaging land they don't own. In terms of the Raos, all I'm certain of is they've "bought" millions of extra shares in the holding company to pay debts off, and they have an overdraft for day to day from BOI.

Land grab apparently, don't know anymore than that.

That sounds like a repossession for not paying and therefore the security has been called in. Very much like a Mortgage repo. And there is MC sending letters to the local MP suggesting everything is ok.

Not sure how they can afford it, they don't appear in any of Forbes lists http://www.forbes.com/india-billionaires/#/tab:overall

Just came across this article, seems to clear up a few points e.g Marshall wants to sign a new contract, why Emnes has only signed until January and also tells us that Coyle has been restricted in spending, explaining why so many Loanees.

There was another article by Forbes around the time of takeover that said the ICICI bank was funding the deal for Venkys. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a whole host of complex borrowings connected to the running of Rovers.

There are even lending funds for football clubs against 'book value' to be had from places like Brunei

The Indian government are looking into huge areas of land that was swallowed up decades ago by farmers and industrialists when it maybe wasn't there to be grabbed.

No idea if this involves any of V's assets but there have been rumours because so much area is now under scrutiny.
