Exactly the sort of player we're short of. He was outstanding for the Dingles last season. It'd a be a bit of gamble that Barton can still do it now. Some players hit the wall very suddenly. He'd be worth taking on trial to see if he still has what it takes.

you know who owns us,no way in hell would they sign a player thats gonna cost $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Surely, he can't still be with us if he turned out for WHU tonight. If he got injured tonight it would make a farce of any loan deal. I think you'd agree that we could have done with him at Walsall tonight!

No mention of this in the LET article today. Very strange.

Samuelsen can still play youth games for West Ham to get games under his belt, it's not in conflict with his loan agreement. Last season he played in the youth cup while still at loan at Peterborough and playing regularly for them. We're at risk of losing him in January if we don't give him any games, but as of now that's not a great loss as he's not being used anyway. Under the current under-performing conditions, I would certainly give him some time on the pitch, but in Owen we trust eh?

Agents paper thats suckered a few supporters in!

Yep it won't be long before the scouse mafia there start advertising Marshall etc to one and all with the transfer window looming. Wouldn't be surprised if they are all over someone else from the current squad as well. The V's and partners seem to like 5mill+ per window these days !

A bit of a reminder how this huge debt probably began and a reminder to those who think V's came into this from the off with such good intentions !

Ironic really that Barclays saw five years ago what a lot of Rovers fans still can't see.

Shows they never had any intention of using their own cash for transfers etc. Just a pity we had assets to sell really as Barclays might have done what they did with Liverpool and we'd have been rid before this almost irreversible damage was done.

Sell to buy from the off and sell to survive from the off as well.

It is amazing that some people think that Venky's have provided the funds to keep the club afloat. Somehow the club owe them over £100 million, yet they have used none of their own money or assets. No wonder they don't want to sell, as the scam will be well and truly uncovered.

As Jimmy612 put it, a lot of fans can't see past the matchday experience. Relegations and money troubles are just part of the ebb & flow of football. As long as there's XI guys in blue & white halves to watch at 3pm they'll suffer the off-the-field antics. They're @#/? scared that if Venky's pull the plug and cease to hold us hostage anymore, then the club will fall out of existence and the status quo will be lost. That simply won't happen. We know there are well-connected people out there ready to step in should the club be put up for sale. Even if it means rebuilding from League Two, like Portsmouth, Rovers will live on without these @#/?s.

Well connected people doesn't mean that they have the kind of money it takes to sustain a club that couldnt find a buyer when we were mid table Premier League.

Don't get me wrong, Venkys need to go because they are bad for the club, but if anyone thinks that a drop to League 2 under new ownership will mean a guaranteed return to the Championship or higher is putting a lot of faith in these new owners finding the funds to get us there.

We are dropping to League 2 under Venkys!

The only advantage that Rovers have left now that all of the prize money, parachute money and player sales are squandered is fans. We need shut of Venkys before they drive all these people away as well.

In any case I'd put faith in new, unknown owners right now before I put any in Venkys.

Giles Barnes, oh dear!

A potential signing which perfectly sums up how the club is being exploited by ageing, injury prone players and their agents.

Parasites who want to feast on our carcass.

Coyle is the parasite in chief and is happy to facilitate these ridiculous signings.

Inspite of the view of some that we have no choice but to sign these type of players, other clubs on similar budgets are succeeding with younger, hungrier budget signings.

Coyle has brought 13 players to the club in his one transfer window in charge and at this stage I'd say only 4 or 5 of those can be hailed as successful signings. Gallagher, Emnes, Hoban, Williams and arguably Greer have 'done the business' as players for a Championship squad and can be content or proud of their contributions to the team in their time at the club. The rest of Coyle's signings have been at best mediocre. Mulgrew looks like he is good enough, although has major question marks over his fitness and the decision to hand him a 3 year deal seems very strange for a club supposedly short on money and on the brink of League One. We know Graham is good enough but as yet hasn't lived up to last season's standards. Stokes, Feeney, Samuelson and Byrne haven't been good enough, whilst Hendrie looks like the worst LB I have ever seen. Wes Brown is on course to match my prediction when we signed him and not make a senior first team appearance for the club.

Anyone in a management position assessing business to date would be concerned at the prospect of giving Coyle another transfer window to recruit more ageing players on multi-year contracts when relegation is looking like a formality under his management. Yet it seems here he will be given free reign to load the club up further with his boys, presumably all paid for with the proceeds of Ben Marshall and Craig Conway when they are inevitably shifted out of the club by the end of January.

More concerning still is that Coyle's success stories were all recruited late on in the window when it seems additional wages were freed up from the Duffy sale money enabling him to tap into a higher calibre of loan market than earlier in the summer. Hence the upturn in performances as experienced quality Championship players have arrived and have featured instead of the kids recruited earlier. The problem is that Gallagher, Emnes and Hoban are all on loan and could be heading out the door at any stage and Greer is in his late 30's.

Feeney on a two year, Brown hanging around until he finally got a deal then vapourising with injury again. Greer 36 ???

Now rumours of Barnes who ends up where he's ended up because he can't hack it over here. Followed Coyle over there as well.

All the hallmarks of someone just getting players on contracts again for the sake of it and covering it up with a few good loans who we've no chance of keeping. There's no plan here although it could well just be desperation I suppose.

Thing is if Coyle is wise enough to get a few decent loans in for this situation then that wiseness completely deserts him when it comes to full timers.
