With regards to our situation i don't see Giles Barnes as a bad player to be linked with and I felt the same in the summer. Giles Barnes hasn't been injury prone since his move to the USA. It would be typical that he moves to Derby or Ipswich performs well and for Coyle to be blamed for not signing him.

For me January we need to ring in the change, sell of Elliot Ward, Adam Henley, Bennett. Cancel the loans of Byrne and Samuelsen. I would be happy to see Barnes come in, sign another solid proven CB, promote Nyambe, Mahoney, Wharton to be around the squad.

I think our strongest back line would be

-------------Steele---------

Marshall--Lennihan--Hoban---Williams

Barnes--Evans/Mulgrew--Guthrie---Conway

---------Gallagher--------Emnes--------------

Isn't Emnes going back in Jan ?

Barnes has had not much more than 100 games in 4 years at Houston then joined Vancouver. He'll probably have some kind of hidden injury and they want rid so he'll walk in here straight on a 2 year deal.

Not for me.

A potential signing which perfectly sums up how the club is being exploited by ageing, injury prone players and their agents.

Parasites who want to feast on our carcass.

Coyle is the parasite in chief and is happy to facilitate these ridiculous signings.

Inspite of the view of some that we have no choice but to sign these type of players, other clubs on similar budgets are succeeding with younger, hungrier budget signings.

The headline was

The fact that as soon as he pitched up here he started going after Barnes alongside his obsession with getting Feeney back on Rovers books is enough to bother me. Never mind professional bullhitter Nixon trying to talk this guy up like some sort of mystery coup alarms me it's another agenda led dud.

On loan no probs but you just know if he comes he'll waltz straight in on a two year contract that'll need paying off if we drop after he's disappeared with a bad luck story niggling injury not long after turning up.

Myles Anderson, makes his debut for Barrow tonight in the FA Cup replay at hone V Taunton. My mates lad is playing so, he is there watching and said he will let me know what he thinks of Anderson and if he is at his level yet. I think not, but perhaps Taunton may sign him for their reserves.

Good grief. When clubs like Barrow aren't taking the Cup seriously and are completely devaluing the competition you'd think the FA would step in and do somethi....

Oh, sorry, how silly of me. Just ignore me.

Are you trying to make out Myles is no good? His Dad says he is good enough for the premier league and some naughty fans hounded out of their club. Sob.

Well Myles made his debut last night and according to my mate, he was pretty steady. I asked if he was at his level and he said that is about his level, although he did say he may make league 2 as a steady pro. He said he can't believe he was given a premier league contract, as he is nowhere near that. This guy watches Barrow every week, as his son is a regular in the midfield and has been for the last 2 seasons. Out of Interest does anyone know what salary level Myles was on as Ewood?

PS He thinks he will be dropped for Saturday, as the lad he replaced was absent due to a family bereavement and is a better player.

I see another one of Keith Hill's success stories at Rochdale , Scott Hogan, is in big demand. He'd have been hitting the headlines sooner but for that knee injury.

Hogan was someone I mention we should have signed whlist he was at Rochdale. Always impress me when I watched him

Yeah you're right Chaddy. He's out of our league financially now I'm afraid. He's got a bit of the Jordan Rhodes about him but with added pace.

Hill seems to have the ability to bring out the best in players that have either fallen by the wayside or are just coming up. Rochdale are in really good financial health for the first time in their existence thanks to him. The transfer fees and add ons he's brought to the club are very impressive. I see one of his signings, Craig Dawson, just played his 100 th game for WBA. He went to the school I worked at, a very nice unassuming lad.

One or two more of the young players there are being watched by the top sides.
