Oh give it a rest. You need see him play. So how do you know?

When somebody disagrees with you, you very quickly shout them down with "It's my opinion, I am entitled to my opinion here's another one starting an argument", yet JAL should not be afforded the chance to post his opinions. His wonderfully xenophobic agent-heavy opinions. He did say "looks to have failed", not that he has followed his career.

From a Hibs fan page

Hibs have agreed a loan fee with Blackburn to sign Anthony Stokes. It's just down to Stokes himself to sign now

Just so I can keep up to speed as i'm only checking every now and again, these posts that you're doing for the Celtic player and Stokes, are they from reputable sources or just taken from facebook / twitter?

Not Rovers related but...

From the BBC:

Today's proposed deals could mean it's Aston Villa's busiest January transfer window since the system began in 2003.

Already five players have arrived since the start of the month and today could see the signings of Scott Hogan from Brentford, Neil Taylor from Swansea and young defender Jacob Bedeau from Bury.

It's understood Villa have matched Brentford's asking price of £15m, with West Ham this morning dropping out of the bidding.

That must push Villa's spending this season North of £100m... Great this financial fair play malarkey.

Joao doesn't sound like a bad signing but the "loan with a view to buy" publication shows what a shambles this club is.

I have to say, I'm not exactly sure why we need another striker...  Graham, Stokes and three loan forwards?  Seems a bit much.  So that's Hoban, Emnes, Gallagher, Joao on loan... and have Byrne and Hendrie gone home yet, as we're only allowed 5 loanees in the match day squad?

Our over-reliance on loans is worrying but has been for a while now.

Whole of defence looks weak and our central midfield is as powder puff as ever.

Ambrose.  Hmmm I have a Celtic supporting friend who has told me how much of a donkey Ambrose is for years.

Ba, will reserve judgement until/if he signs.

From a Wednesday fan I know re: Joao:

'First half of last season he was brilliant, even got two caps for Portugal. Hasn't done it really since thanks to a run of injuries and not getting in the side. When he has played this season his finishing has be nothing short of woeful. He needs games and the confidence a goal would bring. Not surprised he's gone out on loan, but I am surprised you have an option to make it permanent tbh.'

I don't know. All these short-term, noncommittal signings might suggest we're entering endgame. A boy can dream.

Technically we haven't signed him.  He is on loan (with no option).  When we spend some money we can get giddy Rev.

Fair point. However that's shifting the goalposts slightly as I'm sure people meant when they said we wouldn't be signing anyone we wouldn't be signing anyone either on loan or permanently.

We have to get through the end of this season fourth from bottom or above. I fully agree that's not acceptable long term and that if we're to prosper long term we need to make decent permanent signings.

Seems like Middlesbrough are 'lumbered' with Rhodes.

Rovers did brilliantly to get what they did for probably the most limited £10m+ rated striker in the top two divisions.

Yes he was a crap striker. All he ever did was score lots of goals.

Never went looking for hoofballs in those imaginary channels.

And I'd have him back in a heartbeat (nothing to do with Nick Berry)

Is Pasha's the taximan parked outside Ewood ready to drive Marshall to Wolves?

Can he drop Lowe and Coyle anywhere?

Stokes can fit in the boot for  lift to a bar in Glasgow.

If he orders a 6 seater he can squeeze Brown and Feeny in as well.

Not still crying over him surely? Where will the goals come from was the argument. Well even now, we still score goals.

The crime here wasn't selling him. The crime was not reinvesting the crazy money in better players.

Lambert Sussed him, Scotland sussed him, Boro sussed him. We've not missed him for a minute.
