There are a lot of similarities when you read about Forest at the min, Charlton and of course Leeds. Difference is all of those seem to have owners who are there, are hands on and trying to do things but balls up because they've absolutely no idea and apply foreign business principles to running big English football clubs.

Theres obviously been a large dose of that here but nobody has burnt through so much cash in 6 years as these lot. Not many have had a turnover of managers and coaches and players as us and certainly not directors. Also non have had the cloak and dagger like Rovers and the conspiracies that brings.

100% for sure NONE have had a Steve Kean or a Shebby Singh.

Maddest and possibly dodgiest club in England

People go mad about what Fawaz has done at Forest and what Cellino has done at Leeds, yet neither of them two bought their clubs as top half Premier League clubs and neither are looking like taking their clubs into League One.

There's a very real chance Venkys could have two relegations in 5 years under their belt by the end of this season.

Cellino's been an idiot and tried to do business at Leeds like he did it in Italy, however it seems lessons have been learned and he's got something good going now. He's put a decent squad together, appointed a bright young manager and let him get on with it and brought in more investment by selling half his shares.

Fawaz has wasted fortunes at Forest and dragged their name through the mud with the managerial merry go round and winding up orders, yet they're right where he found them - mid table/bottom half Championship. Add to that he goes to games, communicates, appoints proper managers and recently attempted to sell them off, all different traits to Venkys.

Charlton were in League One just before Duchatelet turned up. Now they're back there he's at least shown some sort of effort with a solid managerial appointment and a bit of money for new players. They are in a big mess though.

Closest likeness to us is Coventry, though their demise has been spread over 10 years or so and they were a struggling Championship club with no money when SISU turned up. However they do have a sell sell sell mentality along with owners who don't speak and have no interest in football and have just cut back to the point where they exist with minimal losses each year. At least their chairman has admitted that the 'plan' there is to lose as little cash as possible, rather than the blatant lies we see here.

No club can function under these circumstances!

Is there any other club that has a setup like this and is it legal?

The FA's attitude seems to be that once a club has been bought, the owners can do what they like with it.

Shouldn't be that way, should be like Germany but too much money talking for that.

Good luck to parliament but I am not holding my breath.

Dont!! Makes me cringe thinking about legends like tugay compared to the crap we have now

Reading that link has all brought tears to my eyes....bar far my favorite player ever to grace the blue n white shirt Out of the 20+ shirts Ive got of Rovers Tugays name has been on the back of 5 of them, if only we had a midfielder with 10% of his ability.

I always remember Hughes getting interviewed re Tugay and the bloke asked if Hughes wished he had a Tugay but 10 yrs younger n he said no because then he'd be playing for Barca.

When these chicken farmers have gone can we have Tugay back as manager please.

I'm no fan of governments or politicians really but the time has come now they should be running the FA. Problem is with them after the globalization of the game really picking up pace and the money involved along with this influx of foreign investors the old suits are so far out of their depths the only thing they can do is turn a blind one. They've have absolutely no idea how to handle it so it's just a case of 'yes you can afford to buy it and run it based on our flimsy checks, it's all yours' then of course they've passed the buck. Owners bought it they own it we can't tell them how to run it.

What a load of rollocks there should be cast iron rules in place.

Prediction - whoever these players are will impress on trial, Coyle will want to give them a deal, then Venkys will refuse to sanction the deal and they will get fed up of waiting and go somewhere else.

There might be a lot of this going on in next few months. The start of the influx of 3k pwk league 1 ers maybe. Senior inviting them in now to see who they might be able to replace in summer once the big cull starts.

Blackpool of a few years ago, Plymouth similar as well a while back. Oh yes !

Would imagine Fat Barry and the Queen of Pune are looking on in admiration at the business model on the Fylde coast. No doubt that will be the Senior saleman 's blue print for "success" with a nice % no doubt on savings.

I would offer him a 5 year contract on 5k a week.

He was good on Saturday and will only improve by playing

Why more than he wants? Bad way of business?

4 years as he is then exempt from L1 FFP rules on salary to turnover for me, along with any others we wish to keep.

Done allot of research in this field personally to date so invite any questions.

That's what they gave Henley allegedly and look how he turned out :o

Salary should be on a sliding scale upwards on appearances and although 5k might be fair enough i certainly wouldn't be handing out 5 year deals.
