Bad way of business? 4 years as he is then exempt from L1 FFP rules on salary to turnover for me, along with any others we wish to keep. Done allot of research in this field personally to date so invite any questions. Can I send you a PM tomorrow night with some questions?

I've been told he's been offered a 3 year deal but won't sign one. I'm guessing this is because up to now the youngsters have rarely been given a chance. Also been told Barnsley have offered 150k for him. Venky's don't want to sell but if he won't sign a deal we will only get a modest amount of compensation for him based on his age etc. We need to get him in the side and convince him his future lies here.

neophox Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 Why does Corry Evans not play? Officially he is injured but is there anything other in it? If he play some games maybe it trigger any clauses that Venkys won't pay...
neophox Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 A midfeld with Corry Evans and a back four with Hoban would help alot avoiding relegation.
neophox Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 A team like this for the rest of the season and a new manager would help: Steele Lowe/Leninhan, Mulgrew, Hoban, Williams Bennett, Evans, Akpan, Emnes, Graham, Gallagher 4-3-3 Formation

Akpan's not a left side midfield any more than Gallagher is a left winger. We can't construct a decent looking side because whoever bought the players had no idea of a formation or pattern of play. I'd be looking to go down the Mark Hughes line and concentrating on not conceding goals and being hard to beat. Maybe a 4-5-1 formation, trouble is we've no Paul Dickov to lead the line.

Then he plays a few club games and tails off again. Maybe an injury that needs managing but the club side should come first and he should sit out Internationals. Deffo not the case here but then again the club does get paid for letting players go to major tournaments right ?

JHRover Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 Evans will be next, along with Conway, when the window re-opens. Watch out for the clues along the way. Little things over the next 3 or 4 months will happen with those two that seem odd or baffling. It might be a steadfast refusal to select either for games even if they are fit, or it might be that Coyle is told he has to pick them every week and play them for 90 minutes to keep them in the shop window. Either way, strap yourselves in for some window-dressing as the summer window approaches. Senior has his plans in place all right. Whether we survive or not, there will be no room for the last remnants of Bowyer's team. The only surprise was that they both got new contracts last January but it appears they managed to sanction those just before the money tap was turned off for good. Put them out for auction and there will be a number of Championship clubs interested. Evans is a good age, regular international with loads of games under his belt and on his day is a good player in the Championship. 2 years left on his deal in the summer = at least £500k, possibly much more given the daft prices flying around these days. No doubt there will be a few celebrating their departures when they leave to join a mid-table or top-half Championship club and we're going into League One, which plays right into these people's hands. The only thing better to them than selling all our players for cash is winning fans over to the idea and supporting it. It happened with Cairney, Josh King, Ben Marshall and it will carry on happening. Anyone read Warnock's interview yesterday? He's already putting plans in place in terms of targets for the summer. He's targeting promotion next season and only wants £5 million to try and do it. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/neil-warnock-reveals-blueprint-promotion-12566125
islander200 Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 Caddis the one in on trial according to Nixon
Stuart Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 Conor wants NOTHING more than to play for BRFC. If he's not good enough that's one thing but he's been messed about too much.
roverstdt Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 Paul Caddis is a good addition for me I have been calling out for us to sign him, and I think he will add a bit of steel to our leaky defence if we can get hoban back then things could actually look quite solid at the back with Caddis---Ambrose/Mulgrew---Hoban---Williams Feeney/Mahoney---J-Lowe/Evans---Bennett--Conway ---------Gallagher---Graham. To be honest I am also excited about the young crop coming through with the likes of Lennihan, Mahoney, Nyambe, and hopefully Thomson, Rankin Costello, Doyle, Wharton. It seems the Rovers Academy (at least) is getting back to steady grounds. I haven't seen a good player break through since the likes of Hanley, Jones, etc...
G Somerset Rover Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 Set to happen according to this Brum article - http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/former-birmingham-city-defender-paul-12568146 Have they not heard of 'Venkys time'?

Caddis Lenihan Hoban Williams Mahoney Evans Mulgrew Bennett Gallagher Graham. Emnes to come on for Graham after 60minutes and we begin to look like a team. Akpan , Guthrie and Greer are there to put on in case of injury/tiring.
