davulsukur Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Quote LAMBERT TO PLYMOUTH? Former England international Rickie Lambert has held talks with Plymouth Argyle over a transfer from Cardiff, according to the Plymouth Herald. Lambert is available for a move but a stumbling block could be his £25,000-a-week wages. He can jog on if he's looking for similar to £25k per week

bluefred Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 He ain't going to get anywhere near those wages in league one .

It would be nice to hear about real targets. Things have gone a bit quiet on that score. New names to argue about desperately needed I'd also like to hear that Stokes OUT is a definate.

AAK Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Rumours now that Gabby Agbonlahor on trial with us, and also we are interested in Doncaster stirker John Marquis

As his pace has decreased and the goals have dried up his career has slowed to a virtual stand still. The time has come for him to get moving - away from Villa."

JacknOry Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 His one attribute was pace and he does not even have that anymore. Might be able to do a semi-decent job in League 1 but what wages would be looking at and would they not be better spent on a young hungry player that at least bring some sell-on value.

I know just the place for him to go for a last big pay cheque!
JacknOry Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 marquis on the other hand - had a very good season last year, is much younger and will probably be hungry enough to work his way up the leagues.
Backroom DE. Posted July 6, 2017 Backroom Posted July 6, 2017 Agbonlahor has been horrendous for years. Even at our level, I'd avoid.
sharpysharps Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 I'd be all over Marquis. Would be a solid signing at this level! Agbonlahor has had too many off the pitch problems....we don't need another one of those!
Backroom Mike E Posted July 6, 2017 Backroom Posted July 6, 2017 A motivated Agbonlahor would be a decent signing! Any other Agbonlahor would be atrocious! Would quite like Marquis if his former from last season carries on.
Garage Flower Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 If it's between a young lad eager to work his way up who's been league 2 player of the season or Gabby Agbonlahor then it's a no brainer.
Hasta Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 At least we could just change the words of the Villa song for Gabby Agbonglahor from fast to fat.
