Reading that, we'll be lucky to get £200k for Mahoney - all in.

Football the sport is great. Football 'the game' is rubbish.

We never really played him or developed him from what i could see, I cant see any reason why he would be classed as worth more than 200k. Waste of time, waste of his talent....

These numbers are pretty wrong.

As far as I can tell it's transfer fees paid/received only and excluding agent's etc., which is fair enough surely?

Do you have a more accurate / comprehensive summary of the Venky period?

Genuinely interested.

Best prices received by Vs on the quality players bought prior to their arrival. And we haven't been dumbed down or so some say.

Replying to your own posts. Strange

You know how much was wasted on signing  players, their wages and then paying off their contracts after they didn't work out. Plus paying off managers and their backroom teams. Whether it was evened out with incoming fees is irrelevant because I wasn't saying that it was.The fact remains that it was still spent.

Think in some ways they've recruited the wrong people in the first place with the management needing to pay people off. Better recruitment would have saved that expense.

On incomings just saw figures were off.

Gladwin was a free - add ons if we get promoted

Derrick Williams was 250k

Then didn't look further sorry.

That site link has been updated very recently to include some but not all of Season 17/18, which I had not seen before. Last time I looked it was only up to and including last season.

I think the Gladwin info on there is wrong but I thought there was a fee involved that was undisclosed.

Whittingham, Dack and Smallwood not on yet.

I've seen £250k and £300k for Williams but main point is 'not much' spent :rover:

I hope we get linked to some new names soon and interested to see if TM can get some good young pace on loan from the PL.

The offer you sent in a private message saying that you want to introduce me to the tarmac or some babble? Very scary stuff getting a message from a faceless avatar on a football forum. I may never leave the house again.

I'd say lay off the gargle. It's a bit early in the day.

 He did similar to me once. I haven't left the house since:lol:

m on Bookmark this. It will save you asking again.

That goes for a lot of others too who repeat the ask just to deflect.

98/99.

Matt Jansen effectively cost £29m.

IIRC around that time Hodgson said something along the lines of 'to get the best you have to pay for it' and then unveiled Christian Dailly.

Hodgson should donate his pension to Rovers.

20 years ago we spent £7.5 million on Kevin Davies.

The sound you may hear is me sobbing.

Not about Venkys or L1 or anything like that.

Just about that one signing.:(

Didn't get a fair chance under poor managerial choices. Sam made him a star.

Yes indeed. Totally transformed him into a very good target man who could mix it with anyone.

That's the legendary Kevin Moran. Definitely a hard man. He wouldn't be going around threatening people on message boards :D

I really hope you did not think I knew who he was?

Proper centre back from the days when proper centre backs lived. Bunch of poosies these days!

Can we arrange a charity boxing fight between Tomphil and BDS BEFORE Rovers sign another player? That's the real question.

See the difference between now and 6 months ago, we all fall out but still nobody is threatening to do a "Robert" and take you to "Coart"...

Some days I think "you feckers venkys what have you done to our club, I hate you, I don't want to attend a match again"

The next day (maybe a Saturday) I think "we've made some cracking signings we are going to have a reyt good crack at promotion this season"

Next day "we will end up selling our 2 best players and won't replace them"

Thats the life of all rovers fans these days. Sad state of affairs.
