Just noticed after a mini-wikipedia binge, that David Goodwillie and Jordan Slew are lining up together up front for Plymouth Argyle in League 2!

Yann Songo'o continuing the ex-Rovers theme at the back......

So nobody signed in time for tomorrow then? Shocker! Can't wait to hear Nixon's "numbers meant Coyley couldn't get the striker over the line" jive soon.

It's an easy line, it's more than probably true and another reason why Lambert will have done a runner.

The contracts issue is just ridiculous. We'll have a contract for them next week - embarrassing for club and player.

more than Chris Brown ;)

Different strokes for different folks... i like it... :D

It means Coyle wants to sign Marcus Babble

its alll the money from player sales, thats gone straight into Venkys India profit.. Smart move by Venkys.. Require 25 million to make target, not much time left to sell enough chickens, only quick way is to sell a few players. Good strategy that, NOT!

I've often wondered if it was Rovers propping up the chicken business and not the other way around. They use the club books for something it seems. I'd love to see the real flow of money chart through VLL :o

Re: Stuart's share price graph...

It's noticeable that there was a big dip around the new year, what happened and was it the cause of turning the tap off and reneging on the promises made to Lambert shortly after??

Didn't someone in another thread say the share price is being pushed up artificially by the family buying shares or something?

I remember Sergei or someone in the new kit thread saying a while back that the new kit design must be approved the family (I guess Balaji) this always struck me as very strange, that they would care about such a seemingly small detail and would want to make the decision... Not that they really care, but still enjoy the power or something like that. If they still want to make decisions like that maybe then they are having to approve every signing and that is also holding everything up...

The signing of Hendrie is a real puzzler... It's only preseason but he looked pretty poor... Then Henley playing left back and seems like SH is only here for back up. Has Coyle signed him then had him in training and realised he is rubbish? It would seem a bit strange for West Ham to loan him out to be back up and play few if any games...

So I wonder after a couple of weeks did Coyle go to Bala and say, actually this Hendrie fella is no good, I need to go out and buy someone better, and Bala then begins to question his judgement, especially after Stokes and Byrne don't exactly shine in preseason so he/they start to say no all the time. This might answer why 5 quick signings and then nothing more...

Lots of speculation there but what else do we have? The only thing I know about Venkys is that I don't know why the hell they do what they do and what they are going to do next.

The bit in bold seems nailed on IMHO.

Shows what we were up against last season when half of our squad is now in League 1. Ah well, we'll be there soon enough I'm sure.

You couldnt make this @#/? up. We could play against Chris Brown in league 1, and he will more than likely bag a hattrick

There was a theory going around a while back that the reason Venkys refused to talk to Lambert and refused to agree to bankroll a summer rebuild with a target of promotion was because they weren't overly impressed with his results between November and May. The idea being that Venkys are aware of our results and performances and came to a decision that Lambert's performance wasn't good enough and they were therefore going to force him to resign by not speaking to him and not meeting his demands.

Now this summer has developed the way it has, I think the above theory has failed.

A far more believable theory is that Venkys have completely lost interest, are fed up with losing 8 figure amounts every year and don't see any need to communicate with the club or its staff.

Their bizarre, unprofessional and disgusting behaviour wasn't limited to Lambert. It certainly wasn't performance or results based. Coyle is suffering from the same problems, Bowyer had the same in his final summer.

I think Mrs D has had enough, and though her ignorance thinks saving money is as easy as just promoting from within, without any understanding of the likely consequences to our league status.

I think Pasha saw what was coming. He knew the parachutes were going and that major cutbacks were on the way, and decided to take the plunge with Lambert as a last roll of the dice, probably hoping that if we got within range of the play-offs last season then it might persuade Venkys to have more of a go. As it turned out we didn't and they aren't.

Today was the last day to sign before the opening but under the circumstances Chris Brown's signing for Bury is the hot topic.

Well, Bury will find out he never buries the ball in to the net.

What price a debut goal...?

Blackburn. Prem striker loan deal should be done over weekend. Player wants it, manager wants it. Minor financials being sorted.

From Nixon

Do Venkys want it?

Has Nixon invented it again?
