Rovers set to sign Southampton striker Sam Gallagher

Source is today Sun on Sunday

Another Brown !?!?

15 appearances for MK Dons last season - goals 0.

Sounds about right for Rovers.

season loan.

Bowyer wanted Gallagher last summer but couldn't get him due to Southampton wanted a loan fee and we couldn't pay that due to FFP Restrictions

And now we get him when his stock and potential is lower - yay

I'm sure this is the lad Chaddy has wanted us to sign for sometime. I'm sure it's the name he mentioned previously (prior to his mk dons loan).

I suggestion him last season/summer.

He is a tall striker.

I didn't see much of him for MK Dons so cant comment about that part of his career tbh.

He was part of Pochettino Southampton PL squad when he was there.

The lad is 21 next month and no longer a 'bright young thing'.

I suspect he's Southampton's John O'Sullivan. He isn't going to make it there so they are getting his wages off the books - Southampton's academy/'reserve' set-up is one of the best in the country - they know what they are doing.

Seems to be the traditional centre forward type (like Graham & Stokes) and not the pacey alternative we are crying out for.

Andre Grey finished last season as top scorer. His early loan spells were hardly prolific and in lower leagues than the championship. 15 games and 1 goal so not disimilar.

This lad has been at one of the best academies in the country so we need to take some solace in that. Maybe he'll be the right fit for us and be a great signing. Who knows.

Personally I'd be a lot more concerned about the back 4 based on yesterday's showing.

Gallagher was a product of Plymouth Argyle's youth system, not Southampton's.

Still, maybe he'll be able to a job if / when the imposter is replaced.

Surely pace was what we needed not more aerial prowess

Smells of clownpants just taking anyone that was offered from the big league

We need pace but its depends who we can get in depending on finances and whether the parent club will let them out?

I would like Akpom but will Arsenal let him out tho. Big Question? Does he want to come? Can we afford his wages? Do Arsenal want him to stay in under 21's squad after his experience at Hull City last season?

This is where Rovers owners need to finance some Transfers. 3 or 4 good signings.
