Stuart Posted December 25, 2016 Posted December 25, 2016 Good on you Den. More games from the club and the EFL though. It's not about being transparent, it's about ticking boxes on the way to appearing to be transparent. Both parties hiding behind each other. Nobody in a position of authority within the club or league will put anything in an email to a fan that could come back to haunt them - particularly as fans can put these things in the public domain (which is ironic as this is exactly where this information should be!). The EFL and the FA are not interested in holding club's to account. They are interested in, first, keeping their own positions and second keeping their organisations alive. These organisations are no longer fit for purpose. The regulations are designed for grass roots football (to "maintain integrity of the game") and are not able to properly regulate big businesses. The power is where the money is. Sky and the PL have made monsters out of former football clubs and they can now hold the footballing authorities to ransom. The trouble is, who do you complain to when the English football authorities aren't doing what we would expect as major stakeholders? (That's assuming anyone cares because it will always be seen as sour grapes for any team not part of the elite PL20 club). FIFA that's who. Well what are they going to do? That's just more of the same but with accents and exotic surnames. So who do you complain to when the global football authorities aren't pulling their weight? The government? The FBI? What will they do? Not a lot unless there are some national monies involved. Prove that dollars were spent and somebody may act. But then what? The remove one dictator and replace him with another, and the machine creaks back into life again. It's a shame there isn't an alternative organisation that clubs could sign up to in competition with the FA. That would @#/? them up. But thanks for trying Den. Maybe the EFL will tighten up the rules on what constitutes 'publishing minutes'. Personally I would never expect that in order to quickly refer to the attendees, actions and statements that I'd have listen to the whole meeting again on replay but that's just me.

JHRover Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 Not a chance. This next meeting will be even worse than the last with Senior sat on the top table. They'll hope everyone has forgotten about our mysterious unnamed and unconfirmed director whilst Senior handles the tricky questions. Cheston demoted back to finances only, with possibly another slideshow to explain why another round of cutbacks are coming, Bob Coar nowhere to be seen, they'll probably try to appease people by putting Mowbray at the front of the line and use the goodwill most people have towards him to shield themselves from danger. Hopefully people will avoid troubling Mowbray with difficult questions and direct them to the henchmen alongside him.
pk1875 Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 I have asked the club who will be attending to enable BRFCAG to put together our questions, I got a reply eventually after reminding the club of its own Customer Charter which states they will reply withing 3 days. The reply however dodged the question basically saying representation from Manager Directors and management team. It seems for some reason they don't want us to know in advance. My guess is Mowbray Senior Dunny Cheston The hope will be that Mowbray and Dunny will get loads of questions player related etc and limit the time for other questions.

They're absolutely pathetic.
47er Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 The Club will hope that, with the change of manager, the focus will be on whether we can stay up, which young players have a chance of first team action, what sort of players will be targeted in the summer etc etc. In fact, anything that is as far as possible away from the owners. I trust the deflecting tactics won't work?
1arC Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 I sincerely hope that proper questions are asked and more importantly, truthful answers are given. I have a feeling the club, will do their best to make it a none event, so for the supports attending, make sure they don't get the chance to.
47er Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 Can someone ask Cheston how Coyle could have been the outstanding candidate given what Warnock is doing with Cardiff and given that Coyle had us in the bottom three all season and has been dumped?
MCMC1875 Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 Second bi-annual meeting with the club 30th March. Questions need to be submitted in advance. Please DM Leonard Venkhater with your questions asap . Bet that Rob Coar does not attend.
JHRover Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 My guess is it will be Senior, Cheston, Mowbray, Silvester and the bloke from Forbes solicitors again. Coar won't be needed any more as they only told him to attend to boost the numbers as it would have looked dodgy if only Cheston had attended (even though he was our only real director) so instead they instructed Coar to show his face. He then admitted he has no day to day job, is powerless and does nothing. So not really any point sitting on a panel taking questions from fans then. Their hope will be that the improvement in results, performances and atmosphere brought about through Coyle's sacking and Mowbray's decent start will calm down the supporters and the aim will undoubtedly be to let Senior 'do his thing' and talk the talk and also put Mowbray in the spotlight in the hope that fans focus on him. Cheston will probably only comment on financial matters and will seize the opportunity to explain again why everyone of any value has to be sold.

Or maybe move on from Coyle? I am sick of hearing about that guy! Ah no, you make a valid point. Hard for these meetings to be constructive with our current league position. It should be about player recruitment, but obviously that is all up in the air at the moment.

Sorry but I can't move on from Coyle. The underhanded way in which he was appointed, his complete inadequacies and general lack of management skills could well have clinched our relegation despite the best efforts of Tony Mowbray. And somebody should be held accountable for this and the two year deal he was given. You might want to move on but I am sure you are in a vast minority. Could somebody at the meeting suggest to Cheston after his insulting 'outstanding candidate' comments that he should do the honourable thing and resign as he has blood on his hands.
Backroom DE. Posted March 14, 2017 Backroom Posted March 14, 2017 If Coyle had been sacked in decent time then maybe moving on would be advisable, but it's been left so late and with the club in such a dire position that it really does need to be addressed.
Gav Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 Supporters groups should release a statement as to why they're boycotting the event and not attend. The last one was a farce, Coar threatened legal action and the club wouldn't release/act upon minutes or play by the rules. The new manager and appointment of Senior is irrelevant, boycott the event.

Disagree these idiots do more harm in these. Christ we have a finance director in mortgage Mike who in three years has made things worse and increased debt, then made the outstanding candidate comment, fans will want to know when he intends upon resigning. we then have senior a football scout pretending to be a business improvement manager despite no track record of this specialist role. bob coar the non executive director who has no involvement in director input, a missing 1 of two directors Gandhi Babu not turning up from Pune as he's complicit with Mortgage Mike. and lastly a shadow director operating under different names with no football or communications history ever but was initially appointed for that role in suhail sheikh aka pasha. Poor Mowbray... This show meeting guarantees itself to be a car crash! It's like a film where you can't predict what awful ending its going to be but you've watched the film so you know one is coming.

Agree 100 per cent
Backroom Mike E Posted March 14, 2017 Backroom Posted March 14, 2017 I think these meetings are a great chance to hold the club accountable and that should be seized upon. I've submitted two questions to LV myself which ought to make them squirm.
tomphil Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 With North End set to bring 6k Mortgage Mike will be busy rewarding himself with another 18 holes somewhere nice after a 17/18k crowd at Cat A prices. India will be pleased this weekend, result irrelevant. Will Bob break away from his holiday retreat to attend this important local derby and give Rovers some representation in the boardroom full of Nobbers or does he only do that for Burnley game ?
AllRoverAsia Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 Someone attending from the Supportera side must take written minutes as the Club will imo fail in their obligations.

Backroom Mike E Posted March 14, 2017 Backroom Posted March 14, 2017 Can we not hire someone? Or just have someone at the meeting do it?
Oldgregg86 Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 Record the whole thing on audio so it can't be edited to suit the clubs agenda. Then you could do written minutes for everyone else

A farce which is what it will be should be listened to by many. Shame it can't put on video. I'm now not sure if I'm joking
Backroom Mike E Posted March 14, 2017 Backroom Posted March 14, 2017 Actually, yeah. Insist that you can record it yourself.

Did this happen........... "However, I take on board your comments and will address this with the various supporter groups prior to the next meeting." theyre scared.
