47er Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 It seems strange , him being there at all.... Indeed it does.
Amo Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Kenny's not leading a consortium, fellas. He was probably at a loose end that Saturday.
JBiz Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Seeing Kenny Dalglish there on Saturday, I wondered if they had offered him money from the Duffy sale to become Director of football! Expect a stunt before the televised Wolves game! Does Daglish have a Twitter? It would be good to see his opinion on how we played!
J*B Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Daglish was there to watch the LFC player on loan at Fulham.
MGAndy Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Does Daglish have a Twitter? It would be good to see his opinion on how we played! Wheelock should have asked him his thoughts about the state of the club. Bearing in mind he was the only football person of any credibility at the match his thoughts would have been worth the effort.
ABBEY Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Kenny's not leading a consortium, fellas. He was probably at a loose end that Saturday. King Kenny heads consortium , gains promotion and wins the league In ya face venkyscum
MGAndy Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 King Kenny heads consortium , gains promotion and wins the league In ya face venkyscum Abbey...the first line of home sweet home came in my mind reading this. If only eh. 😎
frosty Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 We'll win one at some point so can see us beating Rotherham something like 3-2, making right hard work of it of course. One of those games that even though you win it doesn't really offer any encouragement that anything has improved. Might scrape a point from the other games so that'd leave us with 5 points from 10....
ABBEY Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Abbey...the first line of home sweet home came in my mind reading this. If only eh. post of the year ha
Iceman Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Surely Kenny was there purely for pleasure! or pain
Husky Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 Leeds and Rotherham are both @#/?. So that's 4 points right there. Anything else will be a bonus.
davulsukur Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 Leeds and Rotherham are both @#/?. So that's 4 points right there. Anything else will be a bonus. Because we are so awesome......? We are at a huge disadvantage to every other team in the league because Coyle couldn't manage breakfast at Kellogg's
Rover_Shaun Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 I agree with you, 3pts max, nothing more to say really, you don't win many games with league 1 players, loans, free transfers and academy kids, simple as that. Forward planning Gav. We'll be kicking along merrily in mid-table in league 1 this time next year because they have had the foresight to plan ahead As for points can we not just start with something easier? Like, where's our next goal going to come from in the next 5 games?
philipl Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 I guess we would have beaten Cardiff but for Duffy. Even so, I am sticking with a forecast of 0 points from 15.
rovgers Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 I think we'll be lucky to get more than 3 points. In fact the Rotherham game is the only one where I can see point(s) coming from.
Hullrover Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 Get these guys in, can't be any worse. http://mobile.rovers.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/rovers-walking-footballers-take-northern-runners-up-spot-3282789.aspx

blue kiwi Posted September 11, 2016 Author Posted September 11, 2016 well that was a point i was not expecting,so there maybe hope
Blue blood Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 What is encouraging is that despite being utterly rubbish and not winning any league games of yet we're still not adrift. Shows how weak some other teams are. However with Leeds and Rotherham next, lose those and we will be cut off as they're teams in and around the relegation zone with us. Win these and given how slowly some other teams are picking up points and we improve our chances of survival quite a bit. Like I say I'm surprised at how little our woeful start has cost us.
JBiz Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 The league really doesn't mean anything till the end of Jan/Feb - I know form comes into it but we've plenty of time to turn it around. Going off the Venkys previous decisions, it's almost impossible to call the outcome of more woe- but last season they potted bowyer in November after a bad start. Can see Coyle going in Octobee if something doesn't change! Equally, like many - the suspect way in which he ended up with the job could make him the boss for a while... Wonder if he has league two bonuses in his contract?
Blue blood Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Hmm, not sure I agree. For starters it is indicative of how the team is doing, secondly it's a fair number of lost points, which even a solitary win in that could make a big difference. Also we've not played many good teams. Norwich certainly, but for the rest. Perhaps you can make a case for Fulham, but Wigan, Burton and Cardiff are all poor teams imo and will be bottom half teams. Not taking points off them could cost us. Appreciate that's a little different to the league table itself though. Nor am I saying that it isn't more of a guideline in January!
philipl Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 By all accounts yesterday's performance offers a glimmer of hope. We are going to believe we can escape the drop and then be cruelly disappointed...
Stuart Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 I don't believe we can escape the drop. That's why results like this are a side show. We need change. Run of the mill W1 D1 L1 results will just allow the show to rumble on. Leeds once sacked Brian Clough (who had won the league previously) for only getting 3 points from 6 games (one win). We have 2 (draws). Different strokes of course but until something changes we are doomed to repeat 2011/12 all over again.
