Rover_Shaun Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 Which is his least favourite position? He's sure to be played there. But hey ho "Give Coyle a chance" they chant
Ribble Rover Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 This kid is going to have to be good! If he's allowed to play with serenity then he is class. Somehow I'm not sure this atmosphere will suit him
Rover_Shaun Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 Can he play right-back?That positions filled
philipl Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 He is not going to be picked by Coyle- be realistic.
Backroom Tom Posted November 21, 2016 Backroom Posted November 21, 2016 Scored for the reserves tonight And by that I mean West Ham reserves Who are playing against Rovers reserves! So the player scores for his parent club against the club he is currently on loan at!
JHRover Posted November 21, 2016 Posted November 21, 2016 Scored for the reserves tonight And by that I mean West Ham reserves Who are playing against Rovers reserves! So the player scores for his parent club against the club he is currently on loan at! A scandalous state of affairs. Probably nothing illegal but embarrassing and certainly not good for BRFC. What happens if he gets injured tonight and can't play for Rovers if we need him? We lose a first team squad member because he gets injured playing for West Ham's reserves? They could at least try to pretend they're taking Championship survival seriously, yet their only concern seems to be avoiding admitting this has happened.
Baz Posted November 21, 2016 Posted November 21, 2016 Think it probably shows Wet Spams happiness about the game time their player is getting at Ewood.
Mercer Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 One of the country's top young talents, according to Coyley, has now gone back to WHAM - loan spell ended. Presumably, we will now see Wharton starting a few more games if a bob or two has been saved on Samuelson. Yet again, IMV, Rovers showing they have no plan.
frosty Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 Shambles. Hopefully someone will remind Coyle of this before he starts trying to ramble on about how well Wilshere and Sturridge did at Bolton under him every time we get a young kid on loan.
JHRover Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 In the end it has been a waste of everyone's time. Samuelsen will have gained very little from his very brief opportunity on the pitch. West Ham clearly weren't happy with his game time to the extent that they had him playing for their development squad during the week, meanwhile Rovers have wasted a squad place and a bench seat on him only to see him depart the club in the middle of a relegation scrap and he can't be replaced until January at the earliest. I reckon we were paying next to nothing to have him here. West Ham were probably happy to carry on paying his wage if he could come here and play in the Championship. Because we've been contributing next to nothing towards his pay packet that has meant West Ham have maintained control throughout and have been able to call him back for their reserve games and end the loan early due to a lack of game time. If he was on a proper loan with us paying a sizeable chunk of his wages then they wouldn't have been allowed to call him back so early. Once again doing things on the cheap and next to no planning when it comes to squad building.

JHRover Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 Again it leads to questions as to what on earth is really going on here. If it was a conventional loan agreement then he would be with Rovers until January at the earliest. If he wasn't happy then he could return to West Ham then and Rovers could replace him in the transfer market. If West Ham have the power to recall him mid-season then that suggests it was never really a full season-long loan. More an agreement to see how things went with an immediate recall option inserted. Coyle's comments on the club website appear to suggest that he was quite content for Samuelsen to return to West Ham, saying that his lack of game time was a problem and Coyle couldn't promise him that at Rovers. The question has to be why then bother loaning a kid for a season if he required guaranteed first team football? This now leaves us a player down in the middle of November and we're 6 weeks away from the transfer window opening. So how can it be good for Rovers? As I said last night, what happens if someone else gets injured in the next week and we're short on numbers having allowed him to go back to West Ham? What sort of loan agreement allows him to play for West Ham's reserves whilst being in Rovers senior squad? Has this ever happened between two clubs before in English football? Would be no surprise if the money saved on his wages suddenly means someone else gets a new contract or comes into first team contention.
dallydally Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 Coyle is a complete jerk. He couldn't run a p1ss up in a Brewery
Amo Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 He couldn't run a p1ss up in a Brewery What about at Brockhall?
Backroom Tom Posted November 22, 2016 Backroom Posted November 22, 2016 thought he was on a season long loan not sure they can recall him before January , it was part of the deal that he could play for their u23 if he was not getting game time The club confirmed it this afternoon
had.e.nuff Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 loan system changed this season so we are probable still paying whatever part of his wages till jan 53.1.2 any recall clause requiring the early termination of a Standard Loan can only be included in a full Season Standard Loan and this can only be activated during the second (January) Transfer Window;53.1.3 any other early termination of a Standard Loan must be by way of a mutual agreement in writing (including by way of a recall clause within the Standard Loan Agreement) between the Transferor Club, the Transferee Club and the Player but can only be completed after the expiry of 28 days and only during a Transfer Window (but subject to Regulation 53.1.4 below); 53.2 A Player registered on a Standard Loan may continue to play non-first team football for his Transferor Club, and The League shall disregard any non-first team appearance when assessing whether any application for registration of a Player would otherwise comply with the requirements of Article 5(3) of the FIFA Regulations. Clubs acknowledge that such non-first team appearances may still be considered by other leagues, national associations and/or FIFA when assessing compliance with Article 5(3) on any subsequent application by the Player to be registered with any other club
Baz Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 Yet another example of a lack of planning in the transfer market and ending up panicking at the end of the window bringing in whoever we can get our hands on.
McClarky Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 What's the chances he goes somewhere else in our league in January.
cesus Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 He couldn't help plug the gaps at centre half so his time was up!
tomphil Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 Maybe the WHammers lent us this lad for next to nothing but we had to stump up for appearances or something ? Poss the same with a few others, a cheap way to fill out the squad and a bit of window dressing to boot getting lads in from high profile clubs rather than throw in your own and risk looking totally skint. We'll probably not see much of Brown even if he manages to stay fit until they've got Marshalls wages off the books. As said sending this lad back might just let Wharton back in but i wouldn't bet on it. I'm sure the compen if he goes is very tempting to the partners fund along with a nice sell on clause.
