Baggie192 Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Hello lads sorry to bother you again. We run a Europeon approach with basically a DOF doing scouting and the head coach/ manager having final say. It's well known that Pulis doesn't usually go for european players preferring homegrown talent now because the domestic market was so overinflated and our sale has yet to be ratified. a target from aboard was found at Malaga Pulis seems to have vetoed that at the last minute Leaving the squad short. Today Williams released a statement where reading between the lines he blame Pulis http://www.wba.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/statement-west-brom-albion-chairman-john-williams-3286506.aspxMy question is if/when the time comes Can John Williams be ruthless and sack him?

Dunnfc Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Best chairman you will have! How we miss him given our club is in decay! He isn't afraid to make tough decisions but he won't be sacking Pulis for that unless your bottom of the league. Hughes and Allardyce both speak how well they got on with him and how he was one of the best they'd come across in football.
the original david brent Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 He sacked Ince after only 3 months of the season when we were rock bottom. Certain aspects of the media got the race card out; Williams ignored this
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 With all respect Baggie we have enough problems of our own right now.

He has only 1 year left but I'm glad the Chairman will stand up to him With all respect Baggie we have enough problems of our own right now. Apologies, mate, no offence but you are the people to ask and I thank you for your replies
bazza Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 You lucky Baggies. You've got the best chairman in football, make no mistake.

I would imagine JW would rather the manager was happy with the player than players being forced upon him. At least you've got a statement from the club. We've not had a truthful one for 6 years.
Amo Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 He sacked Ince after only 3 months of the season when we were rock bottom. Certain aspects of the media got the race card out; Williams ignored this Although, it was said at the time that Williams wanted to give him more time but the Trust overruled him.

Maybe just putting some gentle pressure on Pulis, shrewd operator is JW.
Steve Kean's Hypnotoad Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 You've got the best chairman in football Baggie but he's not regarded as such because he undermines managers. I'm surprised he even intimated at criticism of Pulis to the press to be honest. He certainly won't do what it comes across as you wanting him to and sack Pulis on the basis of his approach to the job. He'll judge him on results. If you're in danger of going down, what he will do is be ruthless at the right time and find you a good replacement.

Backroom Tom Posted September 1, 2016 Backroom Posted September 1, 2016 Bad news though that isn't John Williams. John Williams has a marvellous moustache

If you ring John Williams he will sit down with you and tell you the 'footballing reasons' but will then tell you that he would deny it in the press. He's as good as his word on that. Top man. Ask to speak to him, Id be amazed if he said no.
perthblue02 Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 John Williams has a marvellous moustache That sentence would make a great title for a half man half biscuit song
bob fleming Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 He's wrote some great music, as well. You should hear him play piano.
pedebumchin Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 We should offer an exec level swap deal to get JW back as our Chairman. They could have our Chairm... Oh What about our Managing Direc... Oh Comercial Dir... Oh Umm. Perhaps we have no one to swap him for? They probably wouldn't take Mike "You're not a real fan" Cheston if we paid his wages.
