[Archived] Meeting With The Club - Brfcs Attendees ?

Grateful to these four for devoting their time.

I strongly suggest that they meet beforehand and agree what questions should be asked and how they handle follow ups and blocking tactics from the Chair.

Questions should be short and pointed to minimise the chance of the club avoiding them without looking evasive.

Spot on Philip. Put a plan in place for all eventualities lads and good luck.

This was the full extent of the clubs response

Hi Mark

Thanks for the feedback. Ill ensure your comments are included in the meeting, along with the feedback we receive from other supporter groups,

Kind regards

Lynsey

Hi Mark,

Any confirmation yet if Pasha will attend?

Yes Mike Cheston stated that he was hopeful a representative of the owners would attend & came across pretty confident that this would happen. Obviously not confirmed though!

This would be in addition to himself, Lynsey Talbot, Ian Sylvester, Robert Coar, Owen Coyle and anybody else relevant to the agenda.

Hi Ben,

. Any confirmation yet from the club if Pasha or ANO will attend?

I have had zero response from the club when I repeatedly ask who will be attending from the club.

A member of the fans forum has informed me however that at the forum meeting on Monday Mike Cheston confirmed that they are hopeful of an owners representative attending.

Can someone from the fans forum on here confirm or elaborate on this

Hi Mark.

Meeting this week. Surely by now they have confirmed Pasha or other owners rep???

There are three key opposing views in this discussion:

Boycott the meeting

Read a prepared statement followed by a walkout

Have a discussion

As I'm to be represented by two organisations -BRFCS and Rovers Trust - I'm wondering if there will be a vote or poll to decide which of the above should go ahead.

As I'm not a BRAG member their stance should not influence the stand taken by BRFCS or RT without member consultation. I don't know if Ewood Blues are invited but the same would apply if they are.

It's previously been confirmed there will be not poll - they're going in there and doing what they think represents you.

OK. I missed that. I think I've now seen a post which partly confirms this. I thought the poll discussion had been about who attends - I think the right people are going from BRFCS.

You're right Abbey. I have no problem with those going, but I can't understand how, without an agreement on their approach, they can be thought to represent the broad spectrum of opinion on here. If they are going to represent this board then we ought to have a say in what they do. From initially saying that the exercise is pointless we now seem to be giving the non existent board and hamstrung directors a chance to pretend all is normal at our totally dysfunctional club.

because there is no poll it means they 100% are not representing me .

if a poll had been created and the result wasn't the one you voted for then what? Not being funny, just interested...

I've submitted some questions along with other members from BRFCS who are attending, so we'll see which (if any) make the final list answered. I cannot say why a poll wasn't created about who should go OR the approach taken as I'm not admin/mod, however am sure that Ste did what he thought was best.

If nothing Thursday will be interesting in terms of how seriously the club take answering some of the more difficult questions - we all know the sort of question that won't/can't be answered and you wouldn't expect Mike Cheston or anybody else attending from the club to write their own P45 or give the LET something juicy to get stuck into.

Personally I cannot see what the club have to gain from this, other than complying with league rules and it will also be interesting to see who the club invite in terms of supporters and other people not at the top table.

It's not a question of what SteB or anyone else thought was best, there were clear guidelines for choosing who should attend the meetings. These have bees posted before in this thread:-

Supporters who are all democratically elected as follows: (or a combination of both)

o Directly elected individuals for the purpose of the SR1

o through the recognised supporters2 group they are representing

http://www.supporter...per-for-EWG.pdf

There has been nothing democratic about this. Ironic really, because at least one of the attendees has been shouting from the rooftops about there needing to be a democratic process when choosing committees etc.

Obviously, there should have been a vote on here on whether BRFCS is represented at the meeting at all. A few on here think 'not', a few more think 'read statement and do one'. Whatever the forum decides, goes.

Democracy: it's a bloody nightmare for some.

Scargill will be spinning in his right-to-buy flat.

I asked for a poll weeks ago on this very subject, as did J*B and a few others, but nothing materialised.

I have to say it's possibly the first time in BRFCS history where I can remember such a request being refused/ignored on such an important issue.

The decision to go had been taken anyway, the poll was just to gage posters opinion only. I think the result would have been massively in favour of boycotting or reading a statement and walking.

The site has lost a little more credibility in my eyes as a result, reminds me of the stitched up Pune trip in more ways than one.....

To be clear I'm not questioning who is representing BRFCS or the site's credibility and I'm happy those people would put the questions I would like answered.

My concern is/was I believe dialogue is still important even if the expected outcome is fruitless. I didn't want to find there was a boycott/walkout without being given the opportunity to express my view on this aspect. I'm up to speed now.

I'm 100% behind the BRFCS guys.
