[Archived] Meeting With The Club - Brfcs Attendees ?

Ste B

Recommended Posts

It's not a question of what SteB or anyone else thought was best, there were clear guidelines for choosing who should attend the meetings.

Anybody would think that those who thought of this would want fans to get tied up in votes and politics...whatever happened to people 'running' the football club just answering questions from supporters?

The site has lost a little more credibility in my eyes as a result, reminds me of the stitched up Pune trip in more ways than one.....

in what way?

For the record, I'm surprised that there wasn't a vote for either who should attend from BRFCS - maybe there weren't enough people put their name forward, or for the stance that should be taken although I'm neither an Admin/Mod so don't know what (if any) discussion took place in relation to the merits of otherwise of running said poll(s).

Tiny minorities rarely are!

I think you might find some of my views aren't a minority one! Seriously, I'm not sure how you can get consensus on a messageboard. To be honest I wasn't even aware that we were classed as a group. Is every fan site with a forum being invited?

Only joking Parson! I'm sure many Rovers fans share your views.

Without being banging the same drum - i've lots of respect for everyone going from BRFCS and i'm sure they'll do a job.

But if people are going 'representing' the members of BRFCS (which I believe is the case), I still maintain that there should have been a vote (which all members of BRFCS had the opportunity to vote in) for what exactly the stance of BRFCS is.

But i've been here before, I've shouted from the rooftops. Looking forward to hearing what you've all got to say on behalf me.

Things are getting lost in translation here.....

Let me be clear, same as Paul I have absolutely no issue with anyone who is attending from BRFCS, credit to you for putting yourself forward, and no vote should have taken place or poll on that issue in my opinion.

We should have had a poll on whether to attend, boycott or read a statement and walk, and quite why a poll couldn't have been produced to gauge opinion, just for a bit of fun, has me thinking the site has lost credibility.

Just as a side issue, even if the Roa brothers came and sat in the room I'd boycott the whole sham, nobody is learning lessons, its the same old cr@p different season.

Didn't you go on the Pune trip Andy? why the hell are you going through the same process again? they've lied to your face once and things are 100 times worse now? why let them do it again?

Agreed. We already have one self appointed group now we have another. Having said that I have no real objection to the individuals selected, just the way they were selected. Again the ones being represented have no say in who has been selected to represent them.

Yes I do go to Pune...not quite the same, I'm not having to take a week off unpaid and facing an unexpected amount of grief for going to this :rover:

I'd suggest that there is more fire in the belly of supporters (generally) now to affect change than there was in those who went to India back in October 2011 and I'll be very interested to see what 'level' of difficulty questions are answered and how the club approach any difficult supplementary questions. It may be a total waste of time, then again you just never know but it can't be any worse than an evening in watching crap TV with the better half!

they weren't selected though. Four people put themselves forward - not even enough to fill the quota given to BRFCS so it never even reached the selection process.

If there are fans on here attending a meeting which represents the BRFCS member's views then those members should have been asked about how they want to be represented.

A poll should have been done and I would have gladly gone with the majority. This site is probably the only Rovers site with some sense spoken, In these times we're supposed to be trying to come together but its members views have been totally ignored in this instance.

It's enough to be ignored by the 'owners' and the club without being ignored by our own.

Khod said he would make a poll but must of been told not too . The reasons ?

I know K-Hod put his name forward for one and has not been "selected" so there has been a selection process and he was eliminated. I would have voted for him.

Pune was a stitch up, we all know that now, but I guarantee if another offer was made people would go again, we'll never get anywhere with this type of attitude and I trying my best to distance myself from the site because it frustrates the hell out of me.

You're interested in difficult questions and answers?

They're lairs Andy, if they told you that £50m was being put into the club in November, Mark Hughes was coming back and our first signing was going to be Wayne Rooney would you go home with a warm glow, happy about the future? because it doesn't get much better than that does it?

No you wouldn't because they're full of it! you'd not get another chance to question them for 6 months in any event when these lies unfold and I bet most would wait that long as well....

It should be boycotted and Rome should burn, but as fans we just keep on talking and talking and talking and talking, its embarrassing.

We know this site well enough to know that we'd have people complaining about the poll if there was one.

Let's just see what happens. We'll know after Thursday where we need to go next.

If you need Thursday to play a part in any decision, you may as well give up Mike.

  • Moderation Lead

This is what I propose for the first meeting - assuming the people on the list are all prepared to attend. I'll ensure KHod and Rog are given a chance next time.

Here you go Al.

(Those below are in the post Ste was quoting in the above and that's who's attending, I believe).

Glen

Madon

Kamy

I know who have been selected. That's not my point. I've no objection to any of them but they were chosen, presumably by SteB and not the members. Why for instance were you left out. Maybe the same ones would have been selected but there should have been a poll. This is undemocratic.

Like a bosses meeting it will be " we will flag it up" and when the peasants leave they will be laughing saying "wank3rs".

Mike I never had you down as gullible

I don't think anyone is upset at the members 'selected' to attend. The inference of a poll was to determine what action our members would like them to take forward. I can only presume that the fear of a BRFCS result of a letter of discontent, or full on boycott led to us not having a poll. Either of those 2 options would not have fitted in with other organisations plans for the meeting, and hence would be very difficult to implement. I get the feeling from WAR that any person or organisation that it's deemed may rock the boat a little too much is ostracised to facilitate the attempt at futile reconciliation with our matriarchal owner.

Whats to complain about? Surely people would want the opportunity to vote for what they believe?

Khod also stated he would be fine to step aside. There was no need for a poll. The names were proposed and there was no dissention at the time.
