Giving even a penny of aid to a country with its own space programme is mad. Don't know the figure but I'm sure it'd upset/anger me. But India even having a space programme when vast swathes of its country live in abject poverty is also mad. Misoallocation of resources.

It's simple yoda, because we're still trying to compensate them for the devestation caused by colonialism.

Pure and simple.

Surely letting them be better than us at cricket for ages is adequate?

To quote a certain poster,

bunkum

To many countries play that card.

India chooses to keep a large part of it's population in pverty, it's the caste system, it existed long before we got there.

The aid we give to India is minuscule in the grand scheme of things.

So why do you think they need, and get aid from the UK?

I suppose, to put it another way, can we be sure that the aid we are giving to India isn't sponsoring their space programme?
