MGAndy Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 Hayley Welsh did the recent pieces in Blackburn. Could know somebody who moves in same circles? https://mobile.twitter.com/WelshHayley/status/729868988797353984 https://m.facebook.com/hayleywelsh/ http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/14527153.Forgotten_walls_around_Blackburn_town_centre_to_be_brought_to_life_by_female_artists/?ref=rss

glen9mullan Posted October 3, 2016 Author Posted October 3, 2016 Grafia has been in touch, going to have a meeting with him wednesday morning which gives us a day or two to look at some opening ideas. I will try and gauge cost from him and a time line of how long it would take etc. I do think the wall is in a prime location and really windex why we have not thought of this before as I'm sure the nationals and India press will have a feel day with it

bazza Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 Banksy, Banksy, were art though Banksy Unfortunately he's a Bristol Rover, not a Blackburn one.
Gav Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 Does anyone have the contacts or name for the guy who did the Dyche on down the road? That won't be there much longer, watch that space 👌
yoda Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 Unfortunately he's a Bristol Rover, not a Blackburn one. I think he likes an unjust cause though
Backroom Tom Posted October 3, 2016 Backroom Posted October 3, 2016 'Made in Blackburn, destroyed in India' works well enough but needs something with it. Fine line with Uncle Jack as his heart would break but we don't want to use his image poorly. We also need to avoid using the club crest as the club would have grounds to get it removed then
Doaksie Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 How about a giant chicken firing squad, and a line of Rovers fans in replica shirts, up against the wall (men, women and children) defiantly with hands on hearts?
Leonard Venkhater Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 How about a giant chicken firing squad, and a line of Rovers fans in replica shirts, up against the wall (men, women and children) defiantly with hands on hearts? Why not go the whole hog?...children in replica shirts LOL
Doaksie Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 Why not go the whole hog?...children in replica shirts LOL There's a chance I may have seen too many politically charged murals in my time. Just a chance.
Glosrover Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 'Made in Blackburn, destroyed in India' works well enough but needs something with it. Fine line with Uncle Jack as his heart would break but we don't want to use his image poorly. We also need to avoid using the club crest as the club would have grounds to get it removed then Ok just a thought and may grab interest in India, image of ghandi, venky logo and something along the lines of, "in years gone by Ghandi won the hearts of Blackburn, in 2011 the Raos broke them. Restore our club, restore our faith, boycott Venkys......"
Backroom Mike E Posted October 3, 2016 Backroom Posted October 3, 2016 Ok just a thought and may grab interest in India, image of ghandi, venky logo and something along the lines of, "in years gone by Ghandi won the hearts of Blackburn, in 2011 the Raos broke them. Restore our club, restore our faith, boycott Venkys......" Use 'our area' instead of 'Blackburn'. Don't want someone discrediting the whole thing just because Gandhi came to Darwen, not Blackburn.
Glosrover Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 Use 'our area' instead of 'Blackburn'. Don't want someone discrediting the whole thing just because Gandhi came to Darwen, not Blackburn. Take the point!! The suggestion doesnt explicitly say he did go to Blackburn, just that he won the hearts of........i know Im being a pedant, but ant such message would have to have the word Blackburn, or Blackburn Rovers in it to resonate . pS im not suggesting that Ghandi did win the hearts of locals either, but its more about getting a message to strike a chord, and to shame the Raos, the hook for the press would be to educate them that Ghandi did in fact go to Darwen, we're not anti Indian, just anti Venkys Defensive reply over !!! I'll shut up now...........
Backroom Mike E Posted October 3, 2016 Backroom Posted October 3, 2016 Ha, no issues with the idea of, it's a brilliant one. Juxtaposing Ghandi and Venkys shows precisely what they have done.

Restore our club, restore our faith, boycott Venkys......" I think there is a Gandhi quote about the people of Darwen 80 years ago-something like "They treated me like one of their own"...I will try and find it.. Meanwhile, I am trying to think of a way to juxtapose it with the fantastic" Made in Blackburn, destroyed in India" logo.
funny-old-game Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 Maybe something with tears rolling down Jacks face and the words "WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO MY CLUB"
AggyBlue Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Maybe something with tears rolling down Jacks face and the words "WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO MY CLUB" No tears. A big Jack pointing down to the small cowering Rao's shouting 'WHAT HAVE YOU DONE'
