J*B Posted October 17, 2016 Author Posted October 17, 2016 Superb, poignant image that sums it all up. My reservation would be that it comes across as a lament rather than a protest. I would put the Rao family front and centre. Defamation, would be down within 48 hours..

Amo Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 Defamation, would be down within 48 hours.. What about an artist's impression of the Raos?
Gav Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 I think it needs a little more punch, for those that don't know/realise just what they have done to the club Completely agree. Great idea though.
J*B Posted October 17, 2016 Author Posted October 17, 2016 What about an artist's impression of the Raos? Doing what?
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 Would hate their ugly mugs on any mural outside Ewood full stop.
funny-old-game Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 Cross posting Madon's post from the debt thread This is an idea for the mural - I personally think it's brilliant https://postimg.org/image/euwy8l147/ An alternative will be produced with an option to vote at some point What about words from Jack on the line " Don't let them destroy my dream. Venky's out" Not necessarily this but something Jack would say.
Backroom Tom Posted October 17, 2016 Backroom Posted October 17, 2016 I quite fancy a line similar to 'Created with love - destroyed by greed'
funny-old-game Posted October 17, 2016 Posted October 17, 2016 I quite fancy a line similar to 'Created with love - destroyed by greed' Very good, like that.
Glosrover Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Very nice. What about adding 'Rovers fans say you lied' under the Desia Quote... lovely Image and very impressive if it can be reproduced at full scale! only reservations really are that who outside the area will know who Anahura Desai actually is, and what relevance her quote may have? the association the wider world has with Rovers is with Venkys rather than with the Raos/Desai, the mural certainly needs to include the #Venkysout mantra, the wilted rose is too wilted! barely recognisable as Rovers emblem!
MCMC1875 Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Cross posting Madon's post from the debt thread This is an idea for the mural - I personally think it's brilliant https://postimg.org/image/euwy8l147/ An alternative will be produced with an option to vote at some point I would have a more critical message. The suggested text is a positive message and won't mean anything to a lot of people.
davulsukur Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Doing what? Rogering each other with a prize winning leak
mhead Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Well I like it...it is hard hitting in a respectful way. Shows the 'dignity' that the public face of the campaign has to maintain. The pyrotechnics(which I also approve of) have to come from the outliers and soloists.
tomphil Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 The made in Blackburn destroyed in India is probably the best one. Blunt, straight to the point, gets the message across if the venkys out banner is on it and everybody understands it.
broadsword Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 "One man dreamt big ... one family gave us a nightmare"
PLJPB Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 I like that the Desai quote is on there. We need to put her personally on the spot. But I would also add the tag line 'made in Blackburn destroyed in India '
MCMC1875 Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 'MADE IN BLACKBURN 1875, DESTROYED IN INDIA 2010' #VENKYSOUT Hard hitting, straight to the point. Says it all for me.
Amo Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 It's a good effort but I agree that it's a little too passive and not accusatory enough.
Dave Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 I like MADE IN BLACKBURN 1875 DESTROYED IN PUNE 2012. It may be better publicity wise if it does get out to India.
Iceman Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Venkys came and they lied Ruined a great legacy, and took away the pride An embarrassment, shambles and derided Destroyed the club, and had fans loyalty divided Why should we stand for this And see the club headed for the abyss Let’s protect our rich history And get back our place very swiftly Together as one, we can achieve great things And once again be Lancashire Kings
oldjamfan1 Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 The mural is a brilliant effort indeed. However, I remain of the view that Jack Walker's image or name should be nowhere near this if we want to try and gain wider support. Fans of other clubs already think we were a set of lucky so-an-sos for having had a benefactor like Jack in the first place and (in their eyes) buying the league title. Anything that gives the impression that we want another Jack is sending out the wrong message and is likely to fail. Focus on the wilting rose and the fact that we simply want 'normal' owners who actually care about the club.
tomphil Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Also isn't this mural is supposed to be getting the Venkys out message across ? We've had twenty odd years to pay homage to Jack with one but no sign, i actually don't want to see his image sharing a wall with those con artists.
Amo Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Rather than a sombre Jack in the background, replace him with caricatures of the Venky's literally overseeing our demise.
broadsword Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Rather than a sombre Jack in the background, replace him with caricatures of the Venky's literally overseeing our demise. Yes, have Venketash with crazy confused eyes choking a chicken, fat Barry in full-on Saturday night fever kit dancing on oblivious and Madam cackling as she squeezes more pound notes out of the club. "Appetite for Destruction"
