tomphil Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 Wow, a Rovers midfield player actually running more than half the length of the field with the ball. Is that still allowed ? Nice reminder of what a good all round player Garner could be as well, really came alive in these games. I loved Rhodes as much as the next fan but as a player he could hold a candle to Garns. Whatever happened to strikers of his ilk they've all but disappeared in recent years. Rumour on Wharton is if he plays another senior game he gets an extension to his contract and s 2k per week rise. A promising young player who's proved ready for the step up and a modest wage rise or a short term contract to a 35 year old who's only managed 50 games in 5 years ? Utter farce Mind you it's probably just down to the legendary we'll get back to you with important decisions once every two months venkscum again.

Dreams of 1995 Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 An automatic contract extension could well be in Coyle's best interests considering the troubles we have had securing our own players new contracts lately. You cannot write it. The boardroom is like an Only Fools & Horses sketch at the moment.

Theres Only One Simon Garner !!!!
Husky Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 Yawns. To listen or to cancel Rovers Player and go out again that is the question. 3-1 to Villa.
eddy11d Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 I'd go with ..............Steele .......Greer Lenihan Mulgrew Marshall Evans Guthrie Conway ..........Bennett Emnes ............Gallagher
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 I'd go with ..............Steele .......Greer Lenihan Mulgrew Marshall Evans Guthrie Conway ..........Bennett Emnes ............Gallagher Mm, you must have backed Villa to win by a mile.
eddy11d Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 Mm, you must have backed Villa to win by a mile.We have to try something, it can't get any worse.3 at the back is the way to go nowadays imo and there's no better opportunity than when we don't have any proper fullbacks in the squad...
frosty Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 No defender on the bench, that Wharton contract situation absolutely stinks. Obviously saving a few quid is more important than actual results (even at the expense of the development of a good young player).
Cherry Blue Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 Steele, Lowe, Greer, Mulgrew, Marshall, Evans, Guthrie, Conway, Gallagher, Emnes.Subs: Raya, Feeney, Byrne, Samuelsen, Graham, Akpan, Bennett. according to LT ??
G Somerset Rover Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 He's been banging on all week about us having all 4 frontmen available and Stokes hasn't made the squad. Coyle eh.
eddy11d Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 So what happens if a centre half or Mulgrew get's injured? There's a bloody good chance of that happening aswell!
JWUpper Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 So what happens if a centre half or Mulgrew get's injured? There's a bloody good chance of that happening aswell! Hope Akpan? Aside from that you could put money on Wharton not playing until January and we sell someone to fund his new contract and then he'll suddenly be back in the first team picture...
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 Steele, Lowe, Greer, Mulgrew, Marshall, Evans, Guthrie, Conway, Gallagher, Emnes.Subs: Raya, Feeney, Byrne, Samuelsen, Graham, Akpan, Bennett. according to LT ?? Is that Venkies latest move ? Play with ten.Who's going to replace Mulgrew when his 70 minutes is up ?
philipl Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 Somebody has stacked the cash on Rovers getting hammered this afternoon.....
tomphil Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 Ignore the back line and that team has a decent look to it on paper. More mismanagement and the usual dose of crap ownership leaves us with no proper defence again. No good when your fighting a relegation battle that's for sure.
AllRoverAsia Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 Got a feeling we are in for a sound thrashing. Following it on here and Talkshiite as only have a mobile as pc retired itself earlier today. Past it like we are.
Spalding Rover Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 I have a feeling today might push some more people to protesting. Anyone no if this @#/? is getting streamed?
G Somerset Rover Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 Just realised the lack of defensive cover on the bench. What are we, a pub side? If they won't sign off on Wharton's new deal then at least get another youngster on the bench who can actually defend. Coyle's excuses will be made for him now today if/when Mulgrew or Greer break down, when in reality it's just rank bad management.
AllRoverAsia Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 Just found out that Talksport match commentary not available here. Feck it.
Husky Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 Wigan and Cardiff both losing thats good As I'm not Mercer I have licence to say: "No matter how @#/? we are, there are at least 3 worse teams in this league".
G Somerset Rover Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 Hamstring gone? If so that'll be him done with us.
