The man is deluded and thus dangerous to Blackburn's prospects

Anybody who believes the guff he spouts should be locked in a padded cell with a straight jacket on. Coyle just can't help himself when there is a microphone near him and his inflated ego lends itself to coming out with promises that he simply will struggle to achieve. How the hell is he in the most important position at our club?

"We will move ourselves to a position of safety in this league," he said.

He told BBC Radio Lancashire: "There is absolutely no doubt about that and when we do, we need the right investment and the right time to kick on."

Investment? Investment?? Who is he kidding? Himself?

Or is he just lining up his excuses because "we never got wer investment so there was nothing we could do"?

He took the job knowing what he was getting into and now he's trying to treat us like chumps. Why don't the media - especially the local media / LT - call him out on it. Our media don't care if we have a football club or not. They aren't even from the area!

Another round of sales in the next window followed by a few young loans in and maybe a freebie never has been on a 2 year deal will just remind us why he's actually here.

Who's left to sell?

Marshall could fetch £500k in today's market. Despite some opinions on his performances here in recent times a 25 yr old with bags of games at this level who can play in a number of positions are valuable players and more than one club will take a punt on him for less than a million.

Evans is another that has been derided whilst at Rovers but is a capable Championship player who plays regularly for his country and could easily fetch £500k+.

Conway is getting on a bit but could no doubt fetch a similar amount. The three of them together and the money men will be hoping for £2 million or so.

After they have gone then we're down to Lenihan if he continues to impress at CB someone will have a do at signing him. If Graham hits double figures for a struggling side then he'll be sellable.

Sooner or later this project will hit the buffers when the assets run completely dry but for now there's still 4-5 left who could fetch a bob or two.

Anyone or two there is a decent offer for I'd wager.

We had to sell Rhodes last January £10m and Duffy/Hanley for a similar figure in the Summer.

If we need another £10m this next window, I don't know where it's coming from.

Half of our squad are out of contract in the Summer. Lowe, Marshall, Guthrie, Akpan, Henley, Greer, plus Brown, and including loanees leaving: Hoban, Hendrie, Byrne, Gallagher, Samuelsen.

Who's left to sell?

Steele, Raya, Conway, Bennett, Feeney, Graham, Ward, Wharton - all 18 months left

That leaves Mulgrew, Evans, Stokes, Williams, Lenihan, all due the Summer after.

Maybe Evans and Lenihan could fetch a couple of million each in today's market. Stokes and Mulgrew won't command large fees due to their history. Feeney, Ward, Conway and Mulgrew are 30-somethings (young end, granted). Graham has some pedigree.

So, could Graham, Evans, Lenihan and Conway fetch £10m between them? Doubtful. Could our squad cope in this division without them after January - along with Emnes going? Even more doubtful.

I think they could cobble together 5 mill worth of sales if pushed so that would have to suffice to run the club till summer and provide the partners %.

God knows what next.

And so it begins. And people wonder why Brown is here!

Brown is here working with Johnson and Dunn with the Under-23's. He has been excellent for the youngsters this season by guiding and helping them on the pitch during games. He is acting as a player-coach and the youngsters seem to respond to having an experienced figure supporting them on the pitch. No reason why he shouldn't praise our young players and help build their confidence.

He's spouting more claptrap today. He needs drug testing and if he passes it, he should be sectioned.

Can't be classed as a player. Just s cheerleader.

He's played pretty well so far in the role he has been given. The young lads seem to respond to him on the pitch which is a positive.

Hes still touting our players for sale.

In fairness to young Wes, he was responding to the question asked. The alternative "nah, he's pants would probably have been worse".

I'm more worried that Rovers appear to have no plan for our first team and that we are ONLY investing in the development squad but appear to have no plans to promote them, whilst at the same time happy to babysit other club's players for them whilst we drop down the leagues.

All part of the leasing project that was sold to them prior to the takeover which has always been their preferred method of running the club. It was temporarily shelved after relegation and for Bowyer's first couple of seasons but since the summer of 2015 it has been back on.

Sell whoever we can, pocket the proceeds and replace with loans. They were doing it as soon as they arrived, forcing the big established players out the door quickly and replacing with cheaper versions and loan signings. Its just one of a multitude of reasons we'll never be successful, because they will never allow a decent squad to be assembled and grow over a period of time. Bowyer was on the way to doing it but then 'they' got bored and changed track after a couple of seasons.

No club can be successful building around loans or kids. It just doesn't happen at this level. It all sounds very romantic and financially sensible but from a footballing angle it just doesn't equate to success. Nothing wrong with maybe 25% of a squad being loans/kids but the other 75% needs to be tried and tested and reliable to play every week.

Before the 2 week break for internationals Coyle said he would be siiting down with Marshall to discuss his future and then the club would know where it stood, or words to that effect.

Since then------nothing.

Months ago Coyle said Marshall was very keen to extend his contract!

It's all reminiscent of Kean and Hoillet and the outcome will be the same.

Marshall will go in January, I'd guess, because Venkys will always prefer any fee to no fee.

Wharton will then be promoted to the first team squad.

What a way to run a football club.

This is exactly what will happen. Step by step.

The most insulting part for me is they seriously think they can continue to pull the wool over people's eyes. They really think after everything that's happened in the last 6 years that the fans will just swallow this nonsense and can't see what they're up to.

Not any more. Its as clear as day what the 'plan' is at present. The only reason Marshall wasn't sold in the summer was because nobody actually put a firm cash bid on the table.

Marshall will be sat in a press conference before 1st February at a different Championship club and then the truth will be out. The club's lies will be clear when Marshall confirms there was never a serious contract offer on the table to sign.

Do I blame Coyle for this? No. I don't doubt he would like Marshall to sign a new deal. However what I don't like is the constant stringing along and treating the fans like they are stupid. Just be honest about the situation. Marshall isn't staying for a number of reasons, most of which stem from the disgraceful operation of the club. Just admit he's for sale, like everyone else, and come January he will be the one sacrificed.
