Wes Brown pursuing his new career as an Agent?

http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/14920055._Darragh_can_make_it_to_the_top____Wes_Brown_believes_Blackburn_Rovers_defender_has_big_future/?ref=mac

He needs something to fill his day whilst in his 'not match fit' state.

....so now the U23/U21/U18's are being put in the shop window?

The place really is being stripped bare.

Brown is here working with Johnson and Dunn with the Under-23's. He has been excellent for the youngsters this season by guiding and helping them on the pitch during games. He is acting as a player-coach and the youngsters seem to respond to having an experienced figure supporting them on the pitch. No reason why he shouldn't praise our young players and help build their confidence.

Sounding less like a fan and more like an employee.

He was asked a question and answered it. Nothing wrong with that.

If the question comes from an agent led journalist, to the agent led manager bingo all the angles are covered. Money money money!!!

How much are you getting out of it parsons ?

I have to agree with Parsons here. I don't think there's much wrong with Brown giving Lenihan a pat in the back.

What was wrong was him being offered a player/coach contract if he's clearly only here to coach. Id have been more than happy if the club announced we'd signed Wes Brown as a coach for our youth - in his time he was one of the better defenders in the Premier League and his experience with United will be invaluable to our youth.

Hiring him as a specialist youth defence coach is a good idea, can't really knock it but if he's here as a player as well and taking up bench space yet maybe not getting played because it'll cost too much then that's wrong. Fits right in with the idiotic way of doing things at Rovers though.

I think it undermines Johnson and Dunn who seem to be doing well enough. And do you remember the last specialist defensive coach we had? Aside from goalkeepers I don't buy into this specialist position coaching.

I think there's a call for it at youth level especially if there''s a specialist working with players individually and maybe the defenders as a group. Less emphasis on team work and more about individual stuff at that level maybe ?

Point is though we can't really afford it and i wouldn't advocate using money for wages for that which really needs urgently putting into the first team :(

Just a fan who still as a touch of realism about the present situation and who doesn't see conspiracy around every corner.

were all fans PB but there's no longer any realism anywhere around Ewood or brockhall these days as for conspiracy theories c'mon PB even you must now know it's been a scam from day 1 over 6 years ago now and continues to be whilst these Charlatans preside over BRFC

Someone offers an alternative view and they get accused of being on the payroll?

Is this really where we are at as a forum?

Wes Brown said the kind of thing senior players have always said when asked about youngsters? The alternative is he says they are no hopers and may as well give up on the game

Surely after 6 years there is ONLY ONE point of view?

Surely?????

The point of view that Venky's are bad for this club - yes.

The point of view that anyone who talks of anything positive about BRFC is an 'agent' - no.

To the guy that said he doesn't buy into specialist position coaching: what's not to buy into? If Wes Brown can come and share experience of how to defend with our up and coming defenders what negative can you see there? Academies bring in position specific coaches all the time.

very much agreed with this

surely players at 17-20 years old need a older head/mentor. Brown has a lot of experience to past on to younger players about both the mental side and playing side of the game. I don't see what the problem is with specialist coaching at that age level with his level of experience and knowledge.

Johnson and Dunn are doing very well at the minute

Tom, you know that if some people are positive on this messageboard anybody they are very quickly called a Venky lover or a agent by people.

it been like this for a while and probably why people posting a lot on here are down. I have cut down how many times I logged on the messageboard.

You are right by the Brown comments.

The point of view that Venky's are bad for this club - yes.

The point of view that anyone who talks of anything positive about BRFC is an 'agent' - no.

spot on there. 100 agreed

Or, how about "someone offers an alternative point of view and his post gets deleted"? Is this really where we are at as a forum?

The PB Protection Society? PB comes across more like speaking from an employee's point of view in this instance rather than a fan's. That's my point of view. It now appears that Wes Brown is not a player but a mentor, an admin position in a threadbare squad that apparently cannot afford to pay Wharton. Never been announced of course. Our defence leaks like a sieve, he's a centre-back but, halfway through the season, has never played. AND he wants to be an agent! Yet PB thinks it's OK. Fair enough, and fair enough of me to say "foul".

I can't find my original post so I assume it's been deleted which, imo, is unprecedented for a post that contains no bad language and no insults. PB is perfectly capable of speaking for himself.

And as for him being accused of being "on the payroll" that is gross hyperbole on your part. I never said any such thing and would not believe it for a second.

To say the least, you are grossly over-reacting. And giving a cue for the Chaddies to get stuck in. A poor do.

He hasnt defended the owners he has rightly made the point that having Brown about helps the younger lads learn.

People cannot even discuss the football bits anymore which is poor imo.

I removed 2 posts, yours (which I have to say I thought I hadn't done hence me leaving the quoted post) and one where there was an accusation aimed directly at Parson that he was in some way profiting from it. That is the focus of my ire and for me totally inappropriate and unfair especially when aimed at someone who is well known for travelling the length of the country in support of this shell of a club.

OK, so my post was removed when there was nothing wrong with it? Fair enough, mistakes happen.

The clear implication of what was left though was that I had made some heinous, personal accusation against Parson which I hadn't.

So, no problem with your last sentence, how he keeps up the enthusiasm to keep on with it I don't know.

I'll leave it there.
