Meaningless words Den. How in practical terms will he accept that responsibility? Donate a week's pay to charity?

Don't think so!

He will continue to accept responsibility for every defeat but so what?

My point is, that in fact, he isn't accepting responsibility 47er.

This is what Cheston said to me about Coyle in email from early July when I questioned the appointment.

We are trying very hard to get Blackburn Rovers back to the top flight as soon as possible and approach the 2016-17 season with a sense of renewed optimism.

It will not be easy, but we need everyone with Rovers at heart (and the tone of your correspondence suggests to me that you care deeply about the club) to get right behind us.

As I said at the time of his appointment, we were delighted to welcome Owen Coyle to the club, following a thorough managerial search. A long list of very high calibre names was drawn up, which was then whittled down to six individuals, four of whom were interviewed. Some were unable to fulfil the role for personal reasons, some personal expectations could not be agreed and some did not meet all of the criteria we were looking for.

Owen has a wealth of management experience, a strong track record in the Championship, which includes a promotion to the Premier League, and an excellent reputation for developing promising young players. He knows the area very well and understands exactly what football, and this club, means to people from these parts.

By taking on the role, he knew exactly what he was entering into and he was very positive about the resources that he would have to work with.

His reputation and contacts within the game are mightily impressive and we have already seen the benefit of that with the signings of Anthony Stokes, Danny Graham, Liam Feeney, Stephen Hendrie, and Jack Byrne players we are all very much looking forward to seeing pull on the blue-and-white halves.

What a disgraceful lump of flannel that is and looking at the players he's highlighted shows why Cheston should be nowhere near the football side of things the number crunching fookwit.

Graham was Lamberts boy and rest have flopped miserably.

Indeed. That quote basically boils down to "well, I technically have to accept responsibility as the manager, but in reality the players are the problem."

Coward. Gives a little more credence to the rumours of the senior players taking umbrage over Coyle's match preparation methods.

Well, looks like he's here to stay. Kean mk. II but at least we know where he lives this time...

Don't be so sure about that.

As I posted on Monday, I understand the Newcastle match live on Sky on Bank Holiday Monday is causing big concerns on how it will reflect on the ownership. I think the Barnsley scenes stirred the pot. Still put it at 90% chance he'll be gone before the Newcastle match rising to 99% should he still be in charge at Huddersfield and we lose. Think we are seeing a bit of Corporal Jones (Dad's Army) at Ewood just now!

We need someone a la Warnock big Sam or Hughes to kick this rabble into some sort of survival shape.. But we all know that isn't going to happen we'd probably end up with another no mark

The obvious tactic is to bin him shortly before the Newcastle game to try and minimise the"noise".

You can't possibly tell me that one game live on sky is causing concern over how it reflects on the ownership of the club. How about being 2nd bottom of the championship and a complete embarrassment all season?

That doesn't reflect too well in anyone's eyes.

Agreed.

But just think about it.

Barnsley was a step up in vitriol and has been noted generally.

Newcastle could see us on the wrong end of a real pasting and a sixth consecutive loss. Bad enough when a crowd turns at any point but in front of Sky cameras beaming world wide!?!? Coyle no longer being manager might just take a bit of sting out of it. I think even our crass management can see this.

God, I hope you're right but I can think of a flaw in the theory - most Rovers fans will be sat watching at home on the box.

If the Newcastle match has more sway than the last 5 years it just goes to show what these charlatans are really like,

That's assuming they are the owners

A bit more than a theory.

Also see postings from Kamy100 and Tom on Monday who had also picked up rumours / gossip about Coyle's tenure.

I think Barnsley will prove to be the day the mountain started to move with an almost inevitable landslide coming soon.

Cheston is on holiday until Jan 3rd but Coil was appointed when he was on holiday so he could get potted whilst he is away. And it will also confirm that Cheston is a meaningless puppet

mercer dont take this the wrong way but leave it out....YOU ASSURED THIS BOARD THAT THE SCUM WOULD BE SELLING UP BEFORE THE END OF THE SEASON...MANY YEARS BACK.

My word, rumours and gossip. Go on from where, the owners that never speak, that take five days to answer a phone. Any one can assume he is going to get sacked just looking at the table and results.

Rumours and gossip my arse, it is guess work.

and Michael Fish told the whole nation back in 1987 that there would be no hurricane, however, we all know what happened in 'The Great Storm' hours later !

As Benjamin Franklin said "but in this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes.”

Hope 2017 is a cracker for you Abbey.

On Monday night, I simply posted in good faith what I had heard earlier that night as I am sure Kamy100 and Tom also did with their postings. We will soon know if these rumblings are correct or not. If you think it's guesswork then it's your prerogative and no loss to me.

and thanks for posting it, I do look forward to your posts. However my point is the rumours you or anyone else here are just guess work based on results and position. The person that makes the decision is not telling any of us in advance :-)

you will not know if these rumblings are correct or not because they are just a guess. I also guess he will be gone this time next week.
