I wonder is Bigdoggsteel is named after the Steel City of Sheffield? I know someone has mentioned he has been a member for a  few years, but he seems to have started posting with regularity, since someone turned up, who was previously at Sheffield. Of course it could be just me.

Yes, I am Paul Senior. I spend my day on here in between talking to shady agents in the shadows.

Thought so and I thought you had stopped posting too. Are you going to the Blackburn game tonight?

As someone from outside of the Blackburn area I spent several years referring to the team as Blackburn. However as I got old enough to go and watch the rover's week in week out you soon realise it's not the done thing referring to the team as Blackburn. Don't really have a point just stating a fact

There are a number of clubs called Rovers in Ireland, hence why I call Blackburn rovers, Blackburn or occasionally the Rovers.

Anyway, this board is more negativity, conspiracy and s**** talk than intelligent football discussion and debate.

I don't feel the need to constantly be in a negativity vacuum. The club is in a  bad spot, but I don't believe a club like Blackburn will constantly be in this position. I believe we can get back into the Premier league. I want the owners gone as much as anyone, but I can't see that happening.

It isn't negativity in my opinion, it is reality. Many posters on here have seen dark days before, derby games against Rochdale and Bury, actually (albeit briefly) bottom of the old Third Division after a 7-1 defeat at Shrewsbury but we were never as depressed and morose about Rovers as we are now. The Indians have ground us down and left us feeling helpless and disenfranchised. And I don't believe it will end for some time yet. So I really can't be positive about any aspect of a club that has been part of my family's life for over fifty years.

Ya,that's fair enough,I don't remember back to those days, but some posters here are just morons for the sake of it. Nothing constructive to say, just verbal diarrhea :D

There is only one Rovers as all posters on here will testify and no one I know refers to Rovers as Blackburn when talking or writing about the club. But let's give you the benefit of the doubt and I am sure if you can answer one simple questions about a Rovers legend, that you won't find on Google, we may accept that you are a Rovers fan. What school did Stuart Metcalfe attend?

The harassing of Bigdoggsteel who comes across to me as a fairly reasonable poster is ridiculous imo.

Back on topic on Coyle instead of rousing the players for a sterling effort tonight he appears to have verbally thrown in the towel before we start by referring to their quality and net spend instead of trying to emphasise any qualities we may have.

I do though agree with Bigdoggsteel to an extent, up until very recently I'd say that the players were at least still playing for Coyle and that he hadn't lost the dressing room, the Leeds game being a prime example. The two games since have been far less impressive so whether that has changed we'll very quickly find out.

I don't know, and I've been supporting "Rovers" since 1971. Does that make me not a fan as well? Lol.

I was there when he scored a cracker at Port Vale in 1975 though.

Ive been reading a lot of your posts and its unfair you've come under attack as you have.

This is my 3rd account on here in the last 10yrs or so and the reason I dont post all that much is the skepticism and outlandish digs that many receive on here is uncall for.

Unless your a poster with 10k posts and dare not talk against the grain you will get on fine but for  the rest of genuine fans who may come on here from time to time just get barrels of abuse.

I think the 2nd post I did on here I was met with 'Ah hello newbie here must be undercover SEM agent blah blah ...

Ive moderated some of europe biggest forums and Ive never come across a forum as hostile as this one I feel sorry for any new member tbh

so in defense of Bigdogg is part n parcel of posting on here give it time and post count you'll be one of the boys one day just depends on how much abuse your willing to take.

If you were there to see him score against Port Vale, then yes that makes you a BIG fan. I bet you don't say I saw Blackburn away at Port Vale in 1975 when you refer to it do you? Did you get bricked there by the way? we did.

You will only be deemed a spy by me, if you refer to the club as Blackburn, when in general conversation. You kiss the wife goodbye and say, soo you later love. She asks where you are going and you say I am going to the Blackburn.

Let's be fair about this Ninja. Have you ever made a post and referred to the club as Blackburn? Imagine being at the game tonight and shouting, "Come on Blackburn" because shouting come on Rovers, may be miss understood as you meaning Sligo Rovers!

How to win friends and influence people.

Which is worse:

Being called Paul Senior or being called a moron.

Funny.

But No Ive always called Blackburn the Rovers...tbf but many of my mates who are leeds fans liverpool etc always call us Blackburn.

Good story that about Preston V Bristol Rovers. I was once in the away end at Stockport when we played away there, when we got relegated from Prem, first time around. Strangely, they sing anti Burnley songs, including the chim ciminee song, so it was great joining in. What you say there about other teams fans referring to us as Blackburn, just compounds this with a poster on here referring to us as Blackburn, but insisting he is a Rovers fan. I find it strange, but happy to give him the benefit of the doubt, if more people refer to us that way too.

tbf since HWSNBN I usually refer to us at 'the shower of shite' many of my punters refer to going to the game as going down 'there' as if Rovers is a tarnish name separated from Ewood -Blackburn Rovers-Rovers  TBF I guess they are right as the Rovers that I knew n loved died about 6 yrs ago.
