[Archived] Worst Player We've Ever Had On Loan?

Dario Marcolin put one in the bottom corner away at Man United. We were 3-0 down after 40 minutes then Sherwood got sent off. I thought we would get battered 2nd half but Nathan Blake neaded one in then Marcolin scored. Unfortunately our 10 men couldn't grab a draw but I enjoyed the game a lot more than I thought I would at 3 zip down.

Some good players in the list above. Amazing how quickly they slip from your mind.

Roque was another ruined with the money I think like Bentley although at least he'd had a career of some sorts unlike David. Once he'd gone to City he seemed to switch off and he was awful back here second time. Great bit of business from Hughes and co. though.

I think they should ban loans between clubs in the same division, limit the amount of loanees you can play to 2 and make clubs pay the full wages of players they have on loan. The current system is rotten.

Yes if they are serious about clamping down on some of the corrupt goings on within the game and the over influential role of agents particularly lower down the food chain then simple steps like you've suggested should be taken.

It would also force clubs to promote more of their youth. Plus the likes of Venkies & Oystons etc would be horrified seeing as they want to run their teams with borrowed players so they might naff off when the prospect of regular backhanders from movement of players diminishes.

Wasn't that Dunns hatrick of penalties game ?

I do remember Diawara scoring in a game though :rover:

We won 6-1 didn't we? Dunn hat trick of penalties and a goal for Diawara.

Danny Simpson was a terrible loanee, who'd have thought he'd be winning the Premier League a few years on? Ince as manager probably put paid to him being a success!
