AggyBlue Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 Love to join in but there's no way my body could manage that. Good luck though and I hope there's a good turnout.
Ben-2000 Posted November 22, 2016 Author Posted November 22, 2016 There is of course the option of joining part-way for those in that area, or other's who can't manage the full walk.

Jock Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 What is the planned route ? Hide behind a tree on Moor Park and join the march at the back and pretend you've done the full walk 👍
Hanks Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 They had to have a police escort when they walked from the Fox and Hounds to the aqueduct to "bury the coffin" after we got relegated. Would the police allow it?
Jock Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 Is the route Feniscowles, Houghton, Walton-le-dale? A pub crawl would help 😀
Ben-2000 Posted November 22, 2016 Author Posted November 22, 2016 Is the route Feniscowles, Houghton, Walton-le-dale? A pub crawl would help Yes, along the Preston Old Road route with a pub stop planned mid-way I believe. They had to have a police escort when they walked from the Fox and Hounds to the aqueduct to "bury the coffin" after we got relegated. Would the police allow it? I believe the Police have been contacted, but no objections/amendments have been raised as far as I know.

Rover_Shaun Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 I highly recommend the Withy Arms in Brig
MCMC1875 Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 I highly recommend the Withy Arms in Brig Withy's not on t'route Shaun.
JHRover Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 They had to have a police escort when they walked from the Fox and Hounds to the aqueduct to "bury the coffin" after we got relegated. Would the police allow it? I'm not really sure how the police could stop someone who wanted to walk along a public highway from Blackburn to Preston. Its a free country (so they say). If the police want to occupy themselves 'escorting' people along the road then that's their decision.
Rover_Shaun Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 Withy's not on t'route Shaun.What is the route?
Jock Posted November 23, 2016 Posted November 23, 2016 What's the long range weather forecast? A barbecue summer
Rover_Shaun Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 What's the long range weather forecast?Very very dry if the walk takes the Preston New Road/New Hall Lane/Blackpool Road route
only2garners Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 That's Preston New Road isn't it? I assumed through Feniscowles, Hoghton & Higher Walton - plenty of pub choice that way.
Rover_Shaun Posted November 25, 2016 Posted November 25, 2016 That's Preston New Road isn't it? I assumed through Feniscowles, Hoghton & Higher Walton - plenty of pub choice that way.yes. Typo as i was thinking of the old road as i typed. The old road way could have led to collections in every pub to the cause
Oldgregg86 Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 Does anybody know roughly how many people are taking part
