Husky Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 After our shock win at Humbugs this game has suddenly become a promotion 6 pointer. A win and the push for promotion will truly be on - get those sticky labels put on the half season ticket flyers. I can't remember the last time we won 3 league games in a row. But if Coylio manages it he could suddenly achieve near hero status. . . I can see the local rag headlines now "from zero to hero". Had this down as a win at first - but bearing in mind the above . . .and our history of bottling it when there's been any hope in sight. 1-1.

Amo Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 Can people stop referring to Owen Coyle as 'Coyley' like he is one of the lads, it's sickening. Mercerman started it. Who's up for an old-fashioned lynching?
Lancaster Rover Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 A win against Newcastle and all is forgotten. "SEM, who, never heard of em".
Lancaster Rover Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 For what it's worth I think we will lose 2-0 tomorrow, I can see the last couple of weeks exploits catching up with us. Complacency will set in and I think we will be 2-0 at half time. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Been talking to a couple of friends from Yorkshire this morning and they are not at all confident that Hudders will get any kind of result; they think the balloon has well and truly burst as far as their team is concerned. Strangely, there is a general feeling among the Town lot that Coyley has 'turned it around' - must be all his bulls--t they've read.
J*B Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 I know Blackburn Rovers FC under Venkys reign of Terror well enough to know this slight confidence ends in a huge battering. 4-1 to Huddersfield. Lidl wine for Mercer this weekend.

Strangely, there is a general feeling among the Town lot that Coyley has 'turned it around' - must be all his bulls--t they've read. I agree that their bubble has burst, I don't think anyone ever expected it to last, did they? That said I have absolutely no faith in Coyle's ability to put a team out to regularly win football matches, I genuinely think he has stumbled into a few wins recently through forced changes, etc rather than any distinct changes in the tactics or play. After all, the Brentford game was ground out through resilience from the players and a lucky own goal rather than managerial mastery, we were a defensive horror show for large parts of the game and the last 20 minutes was horrendous. I am a big fan of Nakhi Wells and can see a player like him who plays on the shoulder and works channels giving stand in defenders Mulgrew and Lenihan a tough time. He's the sort of player who stretches defences and you have to constantly correct your shape. I'm not sure non specialist centre backs are up to that job, especially with Nyambe or Bennett at right back, one is very young, the other a part time RB.
JBiz Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 A win against Newcastle and all is forgotten. "SEM, who, never heard of em". Don't get involved anymore if I can help it because of this. I can accept and respect that people want to boycott, walk away and not support the club out of principle- Do you think it would be possible to respect that others may want to discuss the team, tactics, formations, players, results etc? Regardless of what the owners of done? I know many may find it difficult to disconnect one from the other, but that's no reason to suggest those who can, believe everything is forgotten after some better form. It would be nice to read a preview thread that is actually previewing the game, not the same "seemingly perennial" willy waving contest, that's gone on unabated for years.
Amo Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 We've really missed your condescending moralizing, Jbizzle.
Athlete Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 I'm used to it now. Its a shame cant respect my opinions and deal with it in adult respectful way. But like I said before. Im used to it. I asked Jal was he going then a couple of people have a go at a perfect innocent question. you set yourself up Chaddy.. Hope the new jobs going well................................................lol Back on track with the game though OC must keep a unchanged side with confidence flowing after last Saturday were on the other hand Huddersfield's must be shot after Monday plus they picked up a few knocks . This is probably only the 2nd time this season I am feeling very confident of three points

I expect Nyambe to play there tomorrow

Ha ha, good effort but you'll have to try harder than that sweetpea. Maybe try reading my other posts regarding the game before trying to stick your flag in the moral high ground. For what it's worth, I have a season ticket and attend as many games as both my work and family commitments allow, so stick that in your condescending pipe and I hope you don't choke.
blue kiwi Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 well its matchday here already, can,t say im confident of a win, would take a draw but a defeat would be bad news on our fight against relagation.
Backroom Tom Posted December 2, 2016 Backroom Posted December 2, 2016 The confidence is my biggest worry, it's the hope that kills you!
JohnD Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 What does that tell you? That most people on here couldn't give a toss about the Rovers. Post match threads are busier when we lose. I understand all that and will never darken the door while Venkys are there but ..... I haven't been around here much ...... Have you ever been to a match, attended a protest? Who are you to criticise anyone ?
USABlue Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 Was feeling a little bit upbeat abiut this one but then Mercer put the boot in.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 well its matchday here already, can,t say im confident of a win, would take a draw but a defeat would be bad news on our fight against relagation. We can't really be accepting a draw in games like this if we are expecting to get out of the drop zone.
onlyonejackwalker Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 Anyone feeling overly confident are glossing over most of the last 20 games or so. Feel the odd foal might decide this in a close encounter. 0-1.
dave birch Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 Got to be careful, Aaron Mooy can be a handfull when he's on song. Man City didn't buy him and loan him out for nothing. He has a bit about him.
