Oldgregg86 Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 well 3 points is a must. Difficult game but we have to start chalking up points somewhere and games like these are where to start. COYB

tomphil Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Nailed on loss for me it's the kind of fixture you don't want on Boxing day when you are struggling. One they'll have to fight and scrap all the way to get something from. Will they be up for it ? They clearly aren't fit enough anyway so the day after Christmas day i'm not expecting much, we'll score though. Barnsley 3 Rovers 1
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 3-2 loss as per usual. You'll get good odds on that.
PeteJD13 Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 2 0 Barnsley Coyle to continue wasting oxygen post match by using 10000 words to say nowt
LewisF Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 4-0 barnsley Edit: in fact, Lowe is banned. Eh, let's go 3-0 barnsley
Gav Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Had some massive followings away at Oakwell, late 80's and early 90's are 2 games that spring to mind. Then we had the game late 90's/early 2000's when it wasn't me officer, it was the other 40, but thats another story For the 1000 or so hearty souls that make the trip I want a win, they deserve it, but think we'll draw this one 2-2
ABBEY Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Love going to Barnsley as I have family there ...another heartbreaking boycott day . #venkysout
davulsukur Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 A defeat, could be any score. I'm going to say 4-2

tomphil Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Barnsley had a rough little mob back in the day and well known on the England scene apparently. Last time i went there on the old open end was a night match on a freezing cold evening around March time or something. We were bobbling along doing ok but nowt fantastic yet we still had 1200 there. Bet we don't even take that many now
AllRoverAsia Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 ....and some massive stones thrown over the car park wall at us after the matches. At a game in the 80s the Cops kept us in at the end of the game as easy targets for those bricks and stones. Easter game in hot weather...got sunburn. I think a drawn game so poor I fell asleep in the sun hence got fried. Maybe I was a bit plissed too.
Jock Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Only been twice. Once when we had the wrong Shearer and the other was a bore draw in the FA cup. Massive support for the first one.
den Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Saw This ex professional footballer in the Barnsley FC car park.
Mercer Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Only been twice. Once when we had the wrong Shearer and the other was a bore draw in the FA cup. Massive support for the first one. The infamous Duncan Shearer - debuted at Barnsley, and scored, after we signed him on deadline day from Swindon just one or two days earlier. I was on Oakwell that Saturday and wondered just what the hell Kenny had done (many thought he only signed Duncan to stop the Swindon surge - and it did!). Despite Shearer's debut goal - we were cr@p that day, as was Shearer, and we deservedly lost. Not confident about the match, despite the boost of knowing Lowe is suspended, and fear we will rack up our fourth consecutive loss.
ABBEY Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Saw This ex professional footballer in the Barnsley FC car park. my uncle lnew him and we once met him i a lift in vegas of all place
chor808 Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Love going to Barnsley as I have family there ...another heartbreaking boycott day . #venkysout Boycotting away games too? I'm just missing home games with the thought that they don't get a penny from me at an away game. OK I've not been to many but I'll be at the qpr away game in the cup.
Husky Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 I'm going for 2-2. With Barnsley missing a (their) late chance to win it cue a few fits in far off lands and possibly even a suicide/murder. Keep the Cider on ice.
JAL Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Barnsley away...... is there a pit deep enough ....to put Owen and Sandy in along with the agents they use, so that English football can benefit and move forward from ?
perthblue02 Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Has the team trained for sixty minutes again ? Looks like longer if the photos from table tennis Tuesday are anything to go by

OK I've not been to many but I'll be at the qpr away game in the cup.aye because ticket prices venky FC get a cut ... pay on day they don't I'm completely cold turkey on all games , home , away , youth . I am so pissefd off about it , it breaks my heart every game I miss
Neil Weaver Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Count me as another boycotting home games, but will do a few aways. This will be my first game of the season. Done Barnsley a few times over the years, usually on the train but with this being Boxing Day that won't be an option so any tips on where to park? As for the game, no idea what to expect cos I've only seen 'highlights' this year but Barnsley seem to be back on track after a poor patch a few weeks ago.
A cup of beans Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 My 1st game this season. I'm not particularly interested in the match. Festive drink up with a band of pals is the only reason I'll be present. Barnsley Away on a Tuesday night under Souness is one of my fondest memories. It was the seasons turning point. 1 nil down (did Ripley score for them?) Huff and puff with Egil up front. On comes Matt Jansen and changes the game completely. Scored a scrambled equaliser and Dunny walloped the winner from miles out. We never looked back.
Dunnfc Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Time you name and shame these alleged agents JAL
