I have a female relative who teaches English in Riyadh. Not allowed to go to work without a male driver, not allowed to FINISH HER WORK if no men are in the building. Not allowed to leave Saudi Arabia (or even access her passport) until her employer gives consent.

Anyway, she claims that the reason so many westerners are employed there is that Saudis are genuinely thick as pigshit. Only westerners' educations are keeping that country going in the lower down jobs. All Saudis know how to handle money and little else.

Living on a compound soon loses it's appeal. Especially if the illegal moonshine is a bit dodgy. The police don't care as long as you give them something - but if it's the religious police you could be in trouble.

Needless to say 'going on the pull' as a guy is off the agenda as well (unless you like chain smoking Arab men feeling your leg); Women are off limits as they are 'so free to express their femininity' over there by mostly hiding indoors and even using separate entrances and exits to escape the men. Saudi is like a SJW's dream. I'm quite surprised that most of them don't ever move over there.

She was once accosted by religious police after having her top button undone on a particularly hot day. Luckily the REAL police were nearby and she got their attention before it escalated, and they escorted her home.

There's a pretty racist video that's been doing the social media rounds for the last few hours. Wasn't sure if it was 'authentic' or not, but 4 people seem to have been arrested in Chicago for their part in it.

Something about a white man with special needs being kidnapped and abused by blacks and forced to say stuff like '@#/? white people'.

Interestingly I can't find anything on the mainstream media. Though if it's the other way around they report all kinds of stuff as being 'real'.

Tried to post the link, but it got deleted. Though don't worry, I'm sure it will be all over BBC World News soon

So a video that may or may not be genuine and 4 people who may or may not have been arrested and you wonder why the main news channels aren't reporting it? But hey let's have another go at the BBC, eh ?

If that was four white people who kidnapped and tortured a disabled black kid the streets would be set ablaze and social media would be awash with #BLM virtue signalling. Since it's the other way around, the media won't touch it with a bargepole.

There are always instances of perverse behaviour which cut across all norms and societal divides.

Four people abuse a disabled person- that is horrible, criminal and needs to be dealt with if proven.

This thread is really rather pathetic- in fact the white able bodied men posting on here feeling badly done by are utterly inadequate.

Outside of wartime, Britain's males have never suffered mass starvation, extreme privation, denial of fundamental rights, denial of the vote, systematic sexual or racial discrimination etc etc.

Been irritating me for a while this but obviously a tricky topic to post on.

And the craziest thing is it should be simple - equality should mean that no one is viewed based on their gender or race. Somehow, in an effort to right wrongs from the past, our society seems to have lost sight of what the objective is. The mainstream are still discriminating based on sex and skin colour, it's just that the emphasis has moved from subjugating the minorities to castigating the majority. On an individual level, it still doesn't work: Richard Branson may have billions, but that isn't relevant to a worker on minimum wage whether they're black or white or male or female.

Vilifying the majority is widening the divisions, as political results show.

A bit like your posts in the Brexit thread then

So are you suggest that 'white on black' attacks are somehow more justified (or at least justified as being news) than 'black on white' attacks, just because one is historically more oppressed than the other?

That's how your post reads in the context of being a reaction to those before it.

That's a racist thing to say. Same type of person might just try and justify someone being kidnapped and tortured for up to 48 hours whilst having racial abuse hurled at them as: 'just kids messing around' . . . or with something similar to 'it's the disabled guys own fault as his attackers ancestors were oppressed'.

Didn't all major news outlets report on the story of the black men (and women) savagely attacking and stealing a blokes car for 'supporting Trump' as well?

BBC are so biased - except all the times they are not

This is somehow evidence of a lack of bias from the BBC?

Four black people have carried out the racially and politically motivated kidnapping, mutilation and torture of a bound and gagged disabled white man, posting several videos of the whole act on the internet.

The BBC label it “assault” at the top of the article – serious downplay.

Criticising their coverage of Chicago police’s pathetic response may be a little harsh as I suppose they’d be expected to describe the police’s response, but it tends to contribute to the general tone of understatement in the article:

A possible hate crime.

“Young people make stupid decisions”

“Stupid ranting and raving”

A possibility it will be considered a kidnapping.

Then a comment on Trump making much of racial division (hint hint, he provoked it).

Then the entirely unrelated mention of the Alt Right making Nazi salutes, presumably to remind everyone it works both ways.

And then, the biggest evidence of underplaying from the BBC, it barely makes it onto the main stories at the top of their website. Earlier this afternoon the biggest section of which was assigned to UK car sales and now the given to the death of someone who was raped 30 years ago.

I mean consider the description of what actually happened again, with its many abhorrent and severe facets. Reverse the races and it would be the major story on the BBC website, with several offshoot stories about the geographical, political and social context. And by tonight there’d also be an editorial or 2 on it. The bias is galling, really is.

Now dropped out of the level of articles where they have a picture next to them. 3 hours after it went up. Really is unbelievable. And above that you've got "My mum's partner tried to kill us" up for 17 hours and as I mentioned a woman who was raped 30 years ago and has done some campaign work since, which is also somehow keeping a lethal terrorist attack off the top spot.

I honestly don't think they give a damn anymore about anything other than promoting women. No wonder the racist torture of someone is fast-tracked off the website when a woman filmed it.
