I have skimmed the thread and some great points made, unfortunately I think Gav hits the nail on the head when he says not enough people care. Not a pop at anyone on here really as people care in different ways, be it attending or protesting, so I wouldn't say there is many, if any on here that don't care. The vast majority of Blackburn and surrounding areas do not care about the football club, this is being proven.

I've not been to Ewood for a couple of months now. Got a season ticket but I can no longer stomach watching Coyle stealing a living on the touchline. Seeing him wearing a Rovers badge makes me want to heave and it's got nowt to do with his dingle roots. At a normal club he'd have been gone weeks ago. At a normal club he'd never have got through the door.

It's all just become like some dystopian nightmare, a football groundhog day without the 'laughs' or Andie Macdowell.

WTF do the owners get out of it? They have no interest in football, the club or it's fans. They don't make money out of it, in fact they probably lose a hell of a lot. I genuinely don't believe there's some great conspiracy beyond Tantrics grubby involvement.

Maybe one day they'll just get bored and bugger off.

Anyway, as a one off just don't buy tickets for the Blackpool game. It won't kill anyone not to be there and then ST holders can go back to supporting the team. Nowt wrong with that. But just for one game at least make a small gesture, an empty ground and two fingers to the FA, Venky's and Oystons. Maybe give the ticket money to charity instead.

One game, two fingers.

Two clubs with some of the worst owners in British football get drawn together in the FA's premiere cup competition? (That's viewed all over the world)

Golden opportunity to make your voices heard here, the empty Ewood movement is a great idea.

Couldn't have even scripted this.

Couldn't agree more. If you'd have asked for this opportunity you'd have asked for too much.

I think many people did care, but have now gone beyond the point of caring.

You will never EVER get a full boycott, so why continue to wind yourself up about it?

We played Blackpool at Ewood in 2011 in front of 27,000, on Saturday there will be what, 4,000? Any media doing a panaroma photo/video from the press seats in the Jack Walker will pan across a completely empty Riverside, a couple of hundred scattered across the near 8000 capacity Darwen End, with not much better in the Blackburn End. There's your image to the football world right there.

Like the term 'full employment', this is as good as you'll get it for a boycott, go with that, instead of this constant noise about zero people in the ground, I repeat it will NEVER happen, so move on and own the general narrative about two historic clubs on their knees.

Totally agree with this, I have a season ticket I go to one game a month if at all, I get absolutely no pleasure out of it these days this season will be my last unless things change dramatically, I will be protesting and boycotting for the Blackpool game as highlighting the clubs plight for me is more important than what is happening on the pitch,

Does it say where to meet at what time? I may just be being blind but I didn't spot those essential details

Agreed it just says outside ewood. Needs more detail.

1.00 Brown Cow, Livesey Branch Road.

Joint march to Ewood.

:brfc:

Thanks. If we want more out than in we need to be picking up people on the walk down from other pubs.

I like the idea of the more out than in protest and think it could be a good visual providing there is no abuse towards those going in and no abuse from those going in to those staying out.

I'll hopefully get down and join you all but it won't be at 1 sadly

thats why i suggested a game, gives people the oppurtunity to turn up at any time then a march on ewood, also stops the abuse bit getting out of control, hell of a long time to stand about in the cold.what time does itdark in the uk.

Absolutely. If an FA Cup 4th round Lancashire derby between two clubs that were in the Premier League not long since and have huge history in this competition attracts less than 5,000 people then that should send all the message needed to the owners and watching world.

Of course some will attempt to dress it up as being a symptom of the FA Cup, or that people aren't interested in watching Rovers play Blackpool, but I'm sure the majority will recognise a very special set of circumstances involved at these two clubs as being the cause of an embarrassingly poor attendance.

The hope is that the 'poor attendance' will be somewhat accounted for by the number of people OUTSIDE who would have otherwise gone to the game, if not for poor ownership.

I understand, and if that plan works and there are a large number of people outside during the game then it ought to prevent people from claiming that the poor crowd is purely down to demographics or a lack of interest or people who can't be bothered with the cup.

Is the Rovers Trust as an orgaisation/body supporting or endorsing the protest and boycott? Have they made any announcement? Does it suit Wild's agenda?

BRAG appear the main driving force from the Rovers side and Blackpool Supporters Trust and Tangerine Knights from the Blackpool side.

I'm probably in the minority but I'm looking forward to the game and seeing if we can get through a tie we should be winning and reaching the last 16.

If you want to protest, buy a ticket and protest from inside the ground. If people who are already boycotting boycott the game on Saturday as well, what effect is that going to have? No one is going to notice the slightest bit of difference. A full ish ground of both sets of supporters protesting now that would be fairly unique these days and would make far more of a statement. I don't expect most of the boycotters to ever come back at all let alone when Venky's leave but for one match only it's a shame the focus isn't on going in as a one off to protest as opposed to doing nothing significantly different than what has been happening to date.
