If thats the over-riding view after the last 6 years the club is buggered.

Ok then what are your thoughts on this continuing charade?

My over riding view is that I am 75 (today) and I don't know how long I have left to watch my team. I therefore want to watch Rovers as much as I can and consider that the football section is for talking football. Protests and general whinging about the Venkys and agents can be the subject of separate threads that I don't have to pore through to get the odd bit of discussion about the team. I would have no problem with that. I'm too old to do marches etc. That is for the younger fans who have years ahead of them.

The charade refers to the on the pitch action (or lack of)

When did you last witness on the pitch action? Don't try to lecture me. You are no longer a supporter.

In other words, you,PB, Chaddy etc will not assist in any protests and if the club folds you will not help others form a new one?

Great!

Course I wouldn't!!! When the Club's gone it's gone, and people would be asked to get behind and support an entirely new and different Club, why can you not understand that?

Whilst I'm not at all happy with the Venky's or their track record I'm not and never have been particularly interested in campaigning for the removal of the only thing preventing us from going under. My only interest is in the same Club thats been here since 1875 still being here when they're gone.

That seems to conflict with many protesters whose hatred of the Venky's is such that it seems to have superceded their support for the Club and they merely want to see the back of them regardless of the consequences for the Club.

Administration is of course slightly different because if that were to happen then it is still the same Club coming out the other side after a period of financial restructuring. I could undoubtedly continue my support in those circumstances. However if Venky's left there is no guarantee we could survive with debts of 110m and rising and even administration would probably entail us plummeting even further down the divisions so ideally I'd rather that scenario was avoided as well.

The 'only thing preventing us from going under' are exactly the reason we are on the precipice of going under.

You are perfectly within your rights not to protest but ffs don't put them horrible people on some kind of pedestal and sound like you are grateful to them.

I despair sometimes.

2/2/17

Lecture? 😂😂 You are aware of what you have written previously?

Such misplaced anger. If only you could channel it in a more deserving direction.

Get it back on topic then with YOUR thoughts on the game?

For me, if you take the emotion out of the equation and treat BRFC in relatable terms i.e. as a 'person' rather than a 'football club', its pretty simple.

Ask yourself, if a person goes under / bankrupt, are they still the same person after bankruptcy as before? You'd hope they had learnt some lessons, but John/Mark/Simon/Pete from down the road is still John/Mark/Simon/Pete regardless of whether they've been bankrupt or not - right? They are for me, at least - and for that reason i'm happy enough to go under if it means rid of these clowns.

Including Blackpool's 1,000 away tickets there's a total of about 5,300 been shifted so far for this game.

I say shifted, not sold.

Shame because if both clubs had proper owners this could've been a really big crowd and atmosphere.

I would quite happily support a team in Blue/White halves playing somewhere in Blackburn, with Rovers in the name if it gets desperate enough.

I'm more than happy to do this while singing songs about the good old days.

It really is tragic when you consider how avoidable all of this might have been. All that money wasted on payoffs and hush money. Had they simply kept the existing infrastructure we would be laughing right now. They've had plenty of chances to rectify those mistakes but whether fuelled by ignorance, arrogance or apathy, they are unable to see the error of their ways. It's going to take the literal death of the club to end this nightmare.

Then again, "avoidable" implies that this was done by accident and not design.

Do you think Venky's are going to "fund us" forever and ever, Revidge? Do you not think that whilst these shysters remain, with the debt mounting every year, a laughable board structure, @#/? managers, @#/? players with the quality being continually downgraded, there's a lot more potential for us to go under than if we were under the ownership of someone with even half a clue as to what they were doing?

We've more chance of plummeting further down the divisions while they remain for Christ's sake. I'd rather us go down without them than with them. Whilst we are a Championship club, there is a chance of recovery, as SOMEONE might take a chance on us, but with every year the debt goes up and chances of saving the club become slimmer. We fall further and we are well and truly goosed.

Stop making excuses. The same drivel is spouted on the LT every day by the same dippy eggs. "God save the V's. They are keeping us afloat." This sit-on-the-fence, inaction mentality has assisted in putting us where we are. The fans who stood against the protestors are culpable in the mess we find ourselves in now. Been said plenty of times, but it's akin to Stockholm Syndrome, defending those who are inflicting so much pain on us fans.

Most of the debt is owed to themselves anyway, they aren't going to get it back but I suppose you're one of those who thinks as the debt goes up, the value of the club goes up. That as the debt goes up, any investor after let's say 50% of the club, will have to pay 50% of the debt, as well as whatever the club is valued at. You understand it's a fallacy that as the club's assets deteriorate and debt goes up, that the value of the club goes up? Run up another £100m in debt and the value of the club goes up by the same amount! Soon we'll be worth more than United!

If you cba protesting, cba fighting for your club then fine, you don't have to. But stop pretending that it's because the Venky's are keeping us going and that we should be in some way thankful to them for not effing us up further (yeah, woo thank you so much Venky's!). The path we are on is taking us down. You gonna just shrug your shoulders if we go into admin at the hands of the Rao's? "Oh well nothing I could have done". Because I'll take it upon myself to remind you of your inaction and your attitude toward the Venky's, that they were somehow our saviours and we had no other choice.

And if we manage to get rid of the Venky's, they sell up or whatever and we land in safer hands and a chance of recovery, I'm going to personally give it a great big "I told you so" to every fan with your "thank you Venky's, ignore the nasty protestors" attitude.

so is anyone on this site actually going to attend on Saturday? I will be boycotting like i have been since early December.

It would be good if anyone who considers themselves boycotters, went and boycotted outside Ewood on Saturday. Before anyone asks, I will not be there as I a working.

All the best Al, lets hope for a good game on Saturday and a win to see us into the next round.

I would hope that the Rovers Trust have taken advice from a quality Insolvency Practitioner.

If indeed we are about to enter VEXIT, in my opinion it might be beneficial to obtain professional quality advise from an IP with experience in football matters.

Beforehand there may be ways and means in positioning before any buttons are pressed, in order to perhaps have some input or insight into events.

Would be worth spending a few £s.
