Seen this type of comment over and over... These people refusing to join protests because of comments on a messageboard... What's betting these people were actually going to protest in the first place?

just for the record I was never going to join the protest march, that doesn't mean I don't want #venkysout. Oh and don't assume something about somebody you don't know

What is happening at this club and within the wider football world, is not the fault of the supporters who sit at home today, nor is it the fault of those who stand outside, as much as it is not the fault of those who attend the game to support the team. The blame lies solely at those incompetent, ignorant owners and the governing bodies entrusted to protect our football clubs and their lifeblood.

You only have to listen to the comments of Karl Oyston yesterday, a man who genuinely believes that he and his family are Blackpool Football Club, and this is where the game is going wrong, Blackpool FC is not Mr Oystons, the same as Blackburn Rovers is not the Raos, these clubs belong to the supporters, the one constant at each club for generations, and this point is being missed….Its ours and not yours, it’s not a business, it’s a football club.

There is a call for a boycott of the game today, it is just one game for us Rovers’ supporters and some will and some won’t, but we must respect each persons right to a democratic choice on what their individual course of action is, I just encourage everyone to soul search, consider all the reasons and make a decision that is right for yourself.

Each person entering the ground and clicking that turnstile today will be a statistic used by both clubs as a ‘happy supporter’ and this could not be more further from the truth. Whatever course of action people take today, I’m sure almost to a man they’d welcome the sale of this football club with open arms.

We have a duty as supporters of this club to ensure it is safeguarded for future generations, and to hold those who are destroying it accountable for their actions. There is a whole generation of supporters to come, who do not yet have a voice and who need us to be the voice that fights to ensure there is a football club for them to support in years to come.

Many clubs before Blackburn Rovers have fallen victim and been on the verge, those very clubs survived, albeit just about, this was largely down to supporters rallying around and fighting to protect their club, and this needs to be done from a united voice.

We need togetherness in our supporter base, yes we will make different decisions on what is best for the team/club, but we must always remember who the enemy is and not turn on each other.

I ask supporters who are staying away, who have been staying away for a while now, to return today, and march to Ewood Park and STOP at the gates and not enter, enforce the point you are making and attend the stadium today, standing shoulder to shoulder with fans sharing your concerns.

I ask the supporters who are attending the match today, to still consider joining in the protests outside of the match-time. March with your fellow supporters, express your concerns together and send a clear message to the watching world.

I ask the supporters who say they won’t join in, because “the numbers are always too low”, to consider how much higher those numbers would be, if everyone with this attitude just got involved!

Local Media, National Media and International Media are all interested and watching this, and are all supportive of the action being taken – the platform is provided, the world is watching and NOW is the time to show unity as a supporter base. Whatever decision you take personally today, regarding the boycott – you can still send a clear message that enough is enough.

This is not falling on deaf ears, I have been contacted by the office of Tracey Crouch (The Government Minister for Sport), who is aware of the protests and the concerns being highlighted and is offering an audience with her in Westminster in the coming weeks. As I said earlier, the time to be heard is now.

I disagree completely with that. No-one gives two hoots if John and Steve go bust and reopen in an identical shop just round the corner.

You can't however compare that to a football Club with 142 years of history shutting down and being replaced by a phoenix outfit with no links to Ewood Park ot Brockhall operating from Pleasing ton playing fields or whatever. The equivalent would be John and Steve having to take up a pitch on the pavement attempting to wash by hand.

For me there's no distinction whatsoever between that and thenodrog 's notorious Lancashire United brainwave for which he was roundly panned on here.

Rev I agree with you on the lancashire United thing but totally disagree on the Rovers aspect just look at Leeds Utd for example its all about the lion share do your research same with Rangers..

I took a cleaning company as a example.. Was going to use lauderette.. Did anyone grasp the concept lol

LOL. Whereas I presume you regard boycotted who will no doubt act all surprised when we go bust because we have no money as the font of all knowledge.

Good to see respect for other people's opinions is alive and well on this m/b.

Respect! I was called a 'doom-monger", a "naysayer" and far worse for years.

You never hear that anymore. Wonder why! A lot of history being rewritten recently.

Chaddy and the rest never complained about lack of respect to me and others who were pointing out where we were inevitably heading.

We all need to respect each other choice whether you are season ticket holder, boycottor, protestor but STH. Everyone should be respect.

Like Ive said a number of times, today is a personal choice.

We all want Venkys out when you attend games or not!

Football aside Chaddy, if you're a decent person then you treat everyone with respect. I give back what I'm given.

LOL, oh tough guy! :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

You're a strange bloke Andy with debating skills of a primary school child. Ask for a junior ticket today, I'm sure they'll oblige.

Act like a div Andy and I'll treat you as such. Since you're dishing out advice, using phrases like LOL and smiley faces to reaffirm your point doesn't help you either, perhaps as you say I shouldn't assume but you've helped me to paint a pretty decent picture of yourself. Cheers.

"International media" as evidenced by this: https://mobile.nytimes.com/2017/01/27/sports/soccer/blackpool-fc-blackburn-rovers-fa-cup.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter&_r=1&referer= from the New York Times, which has been drawn to my attention by someone who, like me, infiltrated the Jimmy Armfield stand at Bloomfield Road for the last Premier League game between the two clubs.

He was with the Blackpool supporter [at that time - no longer] who became his wife and I'd erm, "borrowed" ^_^the season ticket of the daughter of one of my old schoolmates from my time in Blackpool in the middle of the last Century.

None of the four of us will be at today's match: me, because, as I've written on here previously, I'm too old for the 30-mile trip from home and back again by public transport; my friend from Blackpool because he started off boycotting Blackpool's home games when the Oysters began ruining their club, then found he wasn't missing the drug which is "going to watch your team", so finds other ways to fill his Saturday afternoons; and the young couple are bringing up their young daughter.

How very, very sad.

Enjoy being angry rather than just taking life for what it is.zzzzzzzzcv

Crack me up pal, I'm enjoying a brew, putting some bets on and about to join some decent people for a pleasant protest, at the same time I've got to know you a bit better... It was of waste time like. Enjoy the game.

It wasn't advice, more a statement of fact...I'm glad you've taken my words on here to paint a picture of me. If I took your words to paint a picture of you, you'd look like a right thunderc*nt. No 'smiley faces' or modern language needed to reaffirm the point on this occasion.

Thanks for explaining the technicalities of your thoroughly intriguing post but it's not just your words, it's teamed with your actions that painted the picture. I wouldn't disagree with you, I'd say I'm a bit of an arrogant prick admittedly. Glad I've effected your posts on here in some ways, hopefully you'll continue to spare me the 'LOL's. Enjoy the game.

I'll leave it there. We could argue all day.

Perhaps I should have said lack of action Andy.

Do I have a season ticket - NO. Do I drone on about that fact in every single thread - NO. Am I taking my lad and nephew to watch a football match - YES. Do I seek or need your approval - NO. Do I really give a sh!t about your opinion of me - NO.

Lets hope the protest is well attended and sends out a positive message about the fan unrest regarding the current ownership and running of the club AND we get through to the next round of the cup.

I set-up the page so fans could donate to the Venkys Out banner that went up today, chucked some money in the to the BRAGAG fighting fund and was a member of the Rovers Trust. Not a fantastic amount, but not a lack of action and probably more than some. NEVER ASSUME NEAL, NEVER ASSUME.

:):brfc:

you can also chuck in telling Balaji to his face they were running the club incorrectly as well as challenging Mike Cheston face to face about his comments regarding fans who boycotted hurting the club at the supporters meeting in September.

Enjoy the game.

I will be doing so and watching my team hopefully getting into the 5th round.

I will always support my team and be a season ticket. There is nothing wrong with this at all.

And yes I want Venkys gone as much as you but I cant give up being a season ticket holder or going to games.
