dingles staying down 4ever Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 A draw against a Prem side might bring Fat Barry out of hiding Only if its away to a London side
Glosrover Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 I'm always disappointed when people don't join protests! I really wanted to shake people going into the ground and ask them why they weren't protesting. Of course I didn't but it just baffles me. Turnout wasn't poor, just disappointing. BBC results page quotes attendance at 9700, anyone think that this is anything like accurate or is it the normal propaganda ?
West Yorks Rover Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 Only one game to replay so far from last night, bit unusual that. I'll bet Paul Lambert fancies Rovers next, Coyle v Lambert, no contest.
tomphil Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 Yes Blackpool attendance looks real , Will wait for Preston Blue and his weekly update of the real overall figure Inflated by about 2k again sounds about right.
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 I'm always disappointed when people don't join protests! I really wanted to shake people going into the ground and ask them why they weren't protesting. Of course I didn't but it just baffles me. Turnout wasn't poor, just disappointing. I must admit it baffles me as well. Still, each to their own as they say. Similarly I for the life in me couldn't understand why people who had bought tickets and were outside the ground just didn't join in the protest. I really am struggling to think of a valid reason why. Perhaps one of them could enlighten me. Also well done to Stuart Caley for the disproportionate police presence outside the ground. I really think that you have seriously damaged your budget today and the bean counter might haul you over the coals. What were they expecting? Police presence was over the top.
Neal Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 Some won't read the protest thread so i'll post this here too as fans deserve to know about Pascha's actions today... Few things leave me speachless as a Rovers fan these days but... Pascha came out of the players enterence handed a phone to a colleague then stood in front of us and had his photo taken. Hardly anyone recognised him until i pointed him out amd what he was doing. As soon as I started shouting of him he darted back inside. The sheer gaul of the fella... If anyone wanted more information on this person then you know everything you need to know about him in that simple act. Disgraceful. Was proud today, was good to talk to the Blackpool fans, share frustrations, sing songs together. It felt good to be part pf something at Ewood again. I've lost my voice signing "Venkys Out, Oyston Out". With 5 minutes to go I walked on the ground at the Bburn End with a Pool friends "Oyston Out" scarf and chanted "Venkys Out! Oyston Out!"... The Blackburn End looked at me like I was from Mars. This action did spark a little "Venkys Out" chant but nothing more. Whilst that was dissapointing I was still proud of those who protested today. On the pool side there were OAP's, young kids, average joe's... All really nice people. Rovers fans were also a credit, not as diverse in age as the pool fans but samg loud amd proud. Despite being in the Championship and Pool being in League 2 I felt a little envy towards the pool fans, they have togetherness and act like a family, that can't be said of my own. Just driven the last of the pool fans back to train station, look forward to seeing them again... Shame the game wasn't a draw. Was good to meet the chaps of the messageboard for the first time, some throughly nice blokes with the head and hearts in the right place. Well done to all involved. Fans United, we'll never be defeated.
Mercer Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 This did not feel like an FA Cup match at all - an uninspiring event in a ground devoid of atmosphere. The protests were a damp squib. About 100 gathered round the main entrance shortly before kick off and about two dozen tennis balls laughably 'launched' from the outside corner of BE/Riverside round about the 20th minute. Most of the balls didn't even reach the pitch. Blackpool were poor, very poor. From the start, they put no pressure on the ball and as poor a side as we are, it was like men against boys and the outcome was never in doubt. It's unbelievable how poor a touch some of those Blackpool players had. Rovers will never have an easier match. No doubt Coyley will lap up the result and talk about a fine professional performance - don't be kidded, it was like a training session so poor were the opposition. A boring afternoon enlightened only by lunch courtesy of some Blackpool friends and a Bennett thunderbolt which came from a Jason Lowe mishit pass!
RevidgeBlue Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 Got the result. Not a great game and apart from the fact we got the goals you'd be hard pressed to tell which side was which. In fact we laboured against the ten men at times. Brightened up when Mahoney came on. Would like to see more of him. Gallagher looked sharper than of late today and was MOM by a mile I thought although the official award went to Bennett.
Mercer Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 9,327 attendance with 1,650 from Blackpool- really? Probably about right. Blackpool at 1,650 seems about right, Roughly 1,800 in BE and JW Upper pretty full from what I could see.

There were way more than 100, at one point there 300-400 easily.
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 I really don't understand the lack of atmosphere at Ewood. With the amount of people that go to get behind the lads and support the team, the place should be rocking!
RevidgeBlue Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 Probably about right. Blackpool at 1,650 seems about right, Roughly 1,800 in BE and JW Upper pretty full from what I could see. Seemed full in JW lower. Couldn't see top tier. Disgraceful that some seem to be disappointed the gate may have been a bit better than expected but that's where we're at these days seemingly.

chaddyrovers Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 The attendance look true. The Blackpool fans attendance looks right. Rovers fans in BBE look about 2k. Jack Walker family stand near Rovers dugout was fullish. I was in there with my missus and step daugther. Dont know what Upper stand was like The game was like a practice game after we went 2 nil up. Bennett goal was great. Rovers lacked tempo in our game.

Disgraceful that some seem to be disappointed the gate may have been a bit better than expected but that's where we're at these days seemingly. There was an effort made by some to organise a boycot of a one off game to highlight two clubs' plights. Those people have every right to feel disappointed if the crowd was more than expected.

chaddyrovers Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 There were way more than 100, at one point there 300-400 easily. LT reported 300 Blackburn fans.
Reedy You're A Star Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 So Pascha came out, you shouted at him, and he went back in. It's an outrage. What did you shout? I think the outrage is more of him coming out to purposely take a selfie with the protesters in the background?
Parsonblue Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 9,327 attendance with 1,650 from Blackpool- really? I would say that was pretty accurate for once. Blackpool looked to have over 1,500 and the JW upper had more in than for years and even the Blackburn End looked about what you would expect. As for the game it was really over when Bennett hit that thunderbolt. After that we seemed content to play keep ball, possibly with one eye on Wednesday night. Main objective of any cup-tie, particularly against lower opposition, is to get through to the next round and that was accomplished. Lincoln and Oxford again showed how difficult these ties can be. I thought Bennett and Gallagher worked hard and Mahoney gave a promising little cameo near the end.
