McClarky Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Man Utd v Wigan will be a crowd puller though. The ground will be full and the viewing figures around the world will be huge. That's why they always put games like that on, they can sell it abroad for a fortune. There are far more interesting ties around but they aren't worth as much so unfortunately won't be on.

Amo Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Looking forward to this game. Hopefully give Bowyer the send off he deserved after doing a good job here after the mess he took on when he was appointed full time. Totally agree chaddy. It should be a good game and if it's priced right it should get a decent attendance and offers the chance to make progress in the competition. Besides Gary, Andy Taylor and Eddie Nolan are both at Blackpool so will be good to see a couple of former youngsters from Ewood as well.
MGAndy Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 I will not be going This game should be a joint protest boycott empty stadium simple
USABlue Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 If we lose this game, and Coyle is still manager, then I am officially done until that plank and his cronies are gone. I still try and check scores, but if that happens, I won't bother anymore. Might as well be done now no sense prolonging the inevitable.
Exiled in Toronto Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 I don't get this saying goodbye to Bowyer business. He did a moderate job and showed his true talent was in spotting players but as for tactics and setting teams up he was found wanting. He will have been really well rewarded for his time as manager and would have increased his salary massively from when he was working in the Academy. In football people move on, it's a by product of the business they operate it. I won't be there but if I was I wouldn't be applauding him pretty much like I never did for any returning manager or player. Not even Sir Roger? He was still being clapped a decade after he left
MGAndy Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Riverside is closed for this game. Darwen End for away supporters only. Einstein not needed to work out what comes next for future fixtures / next season. Too many don't take this seriously step by step... Riverside will be closed next season Guaranteed cost saving blaming boycotters rhetoric
MGAndy Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 the blind blame cheston because they cant see Pasha
pk1875 Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Too many don't take this seriously step by step... Riverside will be closed next season Guaranteed cost saving blaming boycotters rhetoric I suspect you are correct on this. I also think this is part of a longer term plan. Move cameras to Riverside, Close Family Stand and move to JW Stand Close Riverside and move to JW Stand, Close home section of Darwen End and move to JW Stand Save money on, electric, stewards, policing, catering staff, insurance etc etc Make the ground look fuller on TV and pretend to the world that all is well in Venkys Rover

People seem to forget he was allowed the luxury of signing 30 odd players during his time in charge. Some were decent admittedly but there were some shockers and when all was said and done he didn't achieve anything other than to eventually take us backwards. No special treatment from me
Backroom Tom Posted January 18, 2017 Backroom Posted January 18, 2017 the closure is sure to happen it's just a case of when
47er Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Fourth page of a topic about a football match and all the posters have in mind are protests. It's a sign of the times and very sad. True but which is more important-----progress to the next round or the club dying before our eyes?
chaddyrovers Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Why don't you respect other posters opinions? you have your view and I have mine. we all want Venkys out
Parsonblue Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 the closure is sure to happen it's just a case of when You're probably right Tom. It's what Southampton did when they opted to shut parts of the ground to save money. Relegation will almost certainly see the Riverside shut for the first time since the old iconic stand was deemed unsafe.
47er Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Why don't you respect other posters opinions? you have your view and I have mine. we all want Venkys out Hard to respect anyone's views when they change with the wind.Secondly, we may "all" want Venkys Out,it's easy to say, but if you go to every home game and refuse to join in with something as easy and harmless as 1875, then people can be forgiven for wondering how much you want Venkys out or whether you are serious about it. Nothing is achieved without effort.
J*B Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 1/3rd to Venkys. 1/3rd to Oystons. 1/3rd to the FA. Come on now, we can surely all agree that's a dreadful way to spend your hard earned money?
blueboy3333 Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 Lambert? Better win percentage without bringing in eleventy odd players. Bowyer got more points per game than Lambert, which is the only true gauge of how a manager performs. Lambert also signed 9 players in one window so he's also ahead in the 'players signed per window' table. Facts, not fancy, dear boy.
Rover_Shaun Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 As if by magic the shopkeeper appeared....

Yes you are right Television pictures from Ewood are only shown in Blackburn, FA cup round up shows are only shown in Blackburn, Only photographs taken by newspapers and the articles are only published in Blackburn editions. Nobody outside of Blackburn can see anything. Which is quite strange because even here in Aus we saw the Blackpool protest (pitch invasion and others) on both the news and sports programmes and they have little to no interest in anything to do with football apart from the A league and Premier league, must just be a Blackburn thing

Nobody outside of Blackburn can see anything I know my bed sheet from Asda and painted with Made In Blackburn Destroyed In India has been shown around the globe, will it make Venkys go? NO................does it highlight our cause? YES I'd guess
tomphil Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 We are told they watch games beamed back live from Ewood to their living room. Probably bull but if true then yes protests certainly get back to them.
Crimpshrine Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 If there was a Rovers fans v Blackpool fans game at AFC Darwen at the same time it would probably attract a bigger gate. I actually think this is a great idea. Would get loads of press/TV coverage
perthblue02 Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 I actually think this is a great idea. Would get loads of press/TV coverage But would Darwens chairman dare to be seen facilitating a protest match?
Baz Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 Are there any pitches at the top of the hill behind the Riverside?
perthblue02 Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 Are there any pitches at the top of the hill behind the Riverside? There used to be one off Manxman Road that would probably be the nearest if still there.
