AllRoverAsia Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 Thanks for posting and well worth viewing. Rovers dont get a mention but we are still a "work in progress to destruction". Some outstanding fans in this video and I am sure that the same calibre of leaders exist in the Rovers fanbase. It shows that protesting is worthwile and effective and not to is to accept defeat. Keep the Faith.
Oldgregg86 Posted January 19, 2017 Author Posted January 19, 2017 Shows what can be achieved. The FC united fans really put a smile back on my face. Just shows how dissalusioned hard working fans are getting. The revolution is on its way ??
arbitro Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 The Coventry aspect of this documentary is the one which I think bears similarities to our club. Owners who seem intent on running the club into the ground, little or no dialogue with the supporters and a negligible investment in the club. I honestly believe it's only a matter of time before they look for loopholes in the Brockhall and Ewood covenants (if they exist). The flipside is FCUM who seem to be a principled bunch and are running the club for the right reasons.
JAL Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 Totally agree about the comments made regarding FC UNITED and the folks behind it. What concerns me is when the Giggs Scholes and Nevilles put their names to Salford City thus stopping or deflecting support from FC United when they were gaining momentum. Those ex Man U players should have been siding with FC UNITED and not Salford City. For me this was like a carefully designed football industry attack on stitching up those FC Utd supporters.
chor808 Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 Really good video, good to see the FC United story I've seen that lot down at Chorley a couple of times, they seem a happy bunch :-) I think if one or two watch at about 22 or 24 mins when the portsmouth chairman talks about supports with heads in the sand he hits the nail on the head.

Think you'll find that a certain businessman peter Lim is the money man behind Salford and a cohort of the Neville Brothers.. He got them installed at Valencia.. Where's got over 80% stake in the club who are in a la Liga survival battle and have gone through more managers than hot dinners of recent
Iceman Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 To hell with Venkys, can never take away our memories no matter what happens #venkysout I was bored tonight, so made this
davefarnworth Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 Lived for Rovers since 64. No interest now. When we're non league and the billionaire arrogance leaves I'll go to Woking and Sutton-in-Ashfield. Shame about the snowball back then. They lost interest after that. Now we will be run down till then. Venkys couldn't run a proverbial in a proverbial. Shame on the Trust (had a good father like they did). Wasn't into corruption like Barry is. Absolutely sold down the river by SEM etc. Let's face it. We will get our fans back far too late. Keep protesting and do but we are doomed. Get a perspective. Official protest groups are doing things for their own image. Do not respond to this. From the heart. Will tell you to do one RIP my wonderfully run club for years (bar the Kidd/Ince fiascos plus the sixties and seventies at times)

davefarnworth Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 If you loved the club like I did in the sixties wearing a Rovers shirt with pride in the playground and thinking of Bryan Douglas you would understand. Venkys and the board do one. Not the fans

Tyrone Shoelaces Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 I don't remember kids in the 60's wearing Rovers shirts in the playgrounds I wore one in 1962 and for a few years after. Just like the 1960 Cup Final shirt but without the badge. I never did get the long sleeved round collar one. Living in Rochdale I was on my own with pals who supported Blackpool, Everton, Utd, City etc.
AllRoverAsia Posted January 21, 2017 Posted January 21, 2017 I don't remember kids in the 60's wearing Rovers shirts in the playgrounds I did. Playgrounds not school.

davefarnworth Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 It was bring in your Xmas present day. I was so proud of my club. How things have changed. Btw back in 1996 when I started on here, it was a much more pleasant place for communicating. Now it's like the LET unfortunately
davefarnworth Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 Wrong thread. But I will be back when all the shitheads leave. Can take the the club out of the man but can't take the man out of the club
jim mk2 Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 Well said Dave. Rover since 1961. Hurts so much at present and Rovers' plight has put me off football in general. I don't even like watching on TV any more. . We can only hope they will eventually go of their own accord - I'm convinced no one will be able to persuade them them to go. Never considered the snowball before but they're so arrogant it's possible they are doing this out of vindictiveness. Hell and damnation on them
tomphil Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 The snowball was what 3 or 4 years ago ? I know they are slow reacting but i think they'd have pulled the plug a big quicker if that was the case. The guy who took the hit now seems to be signing off the accounts though rather than Mrs so you never know but i'd say it all has more to do with the parachute money finishing. That was probably servicing the borrowings but now there is nothing except sales to do that. The next phase of the downscale conducted by the newly appointed guy will be particularly harsh i think.
