We need to play like this On Friday. We are good enough to stay on.

Performance was there. Good. Players played today.

But where has this performance been most of the season

Expand

It was very similar to normal, play well but make stupid mistakes from poor defensive errors. United played poorly but it doesn't matter if a team can't be organised.

If Coyle stays, next 15 games will see us relegated.

You know that little surge of life a critical patient miraculously goes through before they imminently die. You just watched it.

It's simple. No pressure on our players today, nobody expected us to win. A bit like the Newcastle games, The pressure will be full on come Friday night, we'll  see how many fighters we've got then.

No complaints. Really decent effort. Emnes in the first and Mahoney in the second looked so dangerous.

As to the long term implications? I don't really care any more. Coyle isn't going anywhere so I'm just looking at today's performance for what it was.

Much better performance than normal but we saw in a nutshell today why we're struggling in the League.

Mulgrew and Emnes are several levels above the rest of the team, apart from them and when the youngsters came on going forward we offer very little creatively.

The main problem however is the goals we concede, two more today with disastrous defending for each, the width of the penalty area between our back line.

Finally the youngsters. United couldn't handle Mahoney today but he's not deemed good enough to start in the Championship.

Ditto Tomlinson who drove us forward in the final few minutes when he came on. Didn't realise Mahoney made his debut 3 years ago at 16. Not been seen since. Tomlinson shone pre season two seasons ago and likewise not been seen since. Youngsters come here to die.

Right. Now let's s sack him.

The worst thing either of them could do is stay here. Look what it's done to Lowe and Henley. Not saying either of them would have gone on to be world beaters, but they undoubtedly had more potential than has ultimately been fulfilled. You could easily argue it stalled the progress of the likes of Hanley too. Newcastle very quickly realised they'd been had at £5m.

As a few have already said worst result as outsiders will think Rovers aren't too badly off watching them there.

Unfortunately we know that ....

- we always concede goals of that standard whoever we play against.

- we don't play with so much heart and effort each game.

- young lads who want the ball and will give us a chance moving forwards never get game time.

United never bothered getting out of 2nd gear.

Greer was abysmal. I am glad we were not playing Lincoln as there CF would have mullered us.

I still can't stand Ashley Young.

Mahoney made it worth watching.

It was nice to see Ewood with people on.

I hate ManUre but quite like Jose.

Chris Smalling is ugly.

I am off to bed.

Ferk off Venkys and take Chimphead with you.

Defeat at least saved us a potentially embarrassing trip to Stamford Bridge.

Today's match and the season as whole underlines how much we have missed Hanley and Duffy in the centre of defence and failed to replace them properly.

Told my Man U supporting mate before the game, how bad we were. He'll never listen to another word from me now. How do you explain that away? (Apart from united never got out of first gear).

The worst thing is we are now due another week of 'if we play like that we will be fine' 'we went toe to toe and showed we can compete with the best' followed by a relegation sealing loss at Burton

Wankdog Coyle loses at home again and to Man U we are Blackburn Rovers we don't lose at home to Man U unless we have a loser running the team. Coyle out !

Senior out and anyone that supports these two losers !

I'm not a regular to Ewood Park but for you lads who played I'm pretty pleased with yours, the players performances but what was noticeable was how few headers we win from attacking options yet we keep doing the same thing tossing it in on what then becomes less than half chance ...... Why ?

Well done to Connor but as for Willem practicing stroking the ball into fellow players feet over distance has to improvement  Willem.

Keep on working guys !

Not available on the day. I asked when went in to get ours as few of the lads were on the fence with it being a Friday and early dart from work.

So what do you reckon to Emnes now?

Did really well for the first goal pretty enominous after though but Yeh pleasing performance unlike the Brighton game.

As for Connor a bit more game time but maybe not full games unless he gels instantly with the other lads to create that unbeatable force.

A performance against a well below par Manchester Utd papers over some huge cracks. Conway and Feeney didn't really put any crosses of note but worked hard  (which is the least I expect). Mahoney  got at Darmian straight away and who knows what might have happened had he started. Several players noticeably tired in the last fifteen minutes which doesn't auger well for the scraps ahead.

At least Coyle can dine out on a defeat by a big club. Serial loser that he is.

Glad to see you've revised your opinion slightly having now seen him the grand total of twice. Lol.
