Ben-2000 Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 Might be worth setting up a Facebook 'event' page with all the info... this would reach more fans who don't necessarily use message boards... Quote

Each licencee is sorting their own pub out. There are about six or seven locations in the 'route'...all pubs inc Trades Hall. Quote

Ozz Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 The Hobb Inn and Trades Hall are having a proper day of it. Quote
bazza Posted July 30, 2017 Posted July 30, 2017 Been to the Hob Inn and saw the coffin. Very good, too. Then it was driven off in a car. I expected it to be pushed on a trolley or carried along the pavement with the good turnout following. But no. I think they will stroll down through Brig in dribs and drabs. Off to the Trades Hall now after a quick shop at Sainsbury's. Quote
Ozz Posted July 30, 2017 Posted July 30, 2017 (edited) Was a great do. Got a few good photos. Will put on when I can be arsed/get the site to work properly. Edited July 30, 2017 by Ozz 2 Quote
Oldgregg86 Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 Went to hob inn. Whoever the singer was their was fantastic. Anyone need a singer , find him and get him booked. Quote
Ozz Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 April Moon in Band Pub were great-played Americana, Bowie etc. The guy was Canadian, when they lifted up the Blue And White coffin with a Chucky style doll dressed in a Rovers kit you coiuld see him think WTF am i doing here? And yes Hob Inn guy was a great singer too. 1 Quote

Yes but thanks to the pimple faced Nobber pissheads trashing Brig about 7 years ago there is no chance of their ever being a proper ceremony again (involving a free reign en masse day out at the pubs) Edited April 21, 2018 by Rover_Shaun Quote

Mattyblue Posted April 23, 2018 Posted April 23, 2018 (edited) The 2001 ceremony was a great day from what I remember of it, though it did have the extra boost of it being a promotion to the PL. Edited April 23, 2018 by Mattyblue Quote
Rover_Shaun Posted April 23, 2018 Posted April 23, 2018 3 hours ago, MCMC1875 said: There was a proper ceremony in 2015 for Preston's last promotion. It was the main part of a carnival in Bamber Bridge, with several floats, large cowds and Station Road closed for the afternoon. There was no trouble as far as I can remember. Rovers coffin lowering in 2012 was not allowed in Bamber Bridge, a smaller ceremony was held at Ewood instead. Rovers coffin lowering in 2017 took place on a much smaller scale than traditionally, there was no carnival , no large crowds and no road closure, the coffin was just taken from pub to pub in a car. Because it was absorbed into the family carnival. The last proper coffin bash as they have been known was when the nobbers went down in 2012 and they messed it up forever. Station road was blocked with pissheads outside every pub with 7 black Mariahs for the ensuring fights and criminal damage. Quote
tomphil Posted April 23, 2018 Posted April 23, 2018 Wasn't it something to do with a big Man U match on TV that meant some of the pubs were full of glory boys and ended in bother with day tripping nobbers ? Quote
