Rovers have failed to pose any real attacking threat and have allowed Aston Villa all the time and space that they could possibly need as the away side have dominated the match so far. N'Zogbia gave Villa the lead when he collected the ball on the edge of the area, and smashed his second touch past Robinson who had no chance in the Rovers goal. Villa continued to push forward and nearly went two goals up as the half drew to a close when Robinson produced a fine save to deny N'Zogbia.
