Eddie1363894574
Rovers and Sunderland go into the break after an even first half that saw few chances for either side. Neither side has managed to get on top, although Rovers have perhaps looked slightly more threatening going forward thanks to the pace of Hoilett and Olsson. Yakubu nearly gave Rovers the lead only minutes into the match when his effort was cleared off the line by Bardsley when it looked as though the Nigerian had opened the scoring. Olsson then forced Mignolet into a save when getting off a shot from a tight angle and Hanley then wasted a good chance when he failed to get his header on target when he found himself unmarked eight yards out. Sunderland rarely ventured into the Rovers penalty area, but did look dangerous from several corners and Kyrgiakos has proved a handful from set-pieces.
