Rovers are being linked to a sensational swoop for Huddersfield Town striker Jordan Rhodes. BRFCS understands that Rhodes is Rovers' number 1 transfer target, and an informal approach was made last week for Rhodes which Huddersfield rejected. However, Rovers were last night planning to go back in with a formal offer for the striker. BRFCS understands that Rovers are prepared to offer the player a big wage and bonus package in order to tempt the striker to Ewood Park. Rovers will face competition from Southampton and Fulham but are prepared to beat any financial package that these clubs are prepared to offer Rhodes.

After Leon Best's cruciate ligament injury Rovers are also looking to bring in another striker on loan. BRFCS understands that Ricardo Fuller, James Vaughan and Roque Santa Cruz are some of the players on Rovers' target list.

In addition, Rovers will also look to bring in a defender on loan who would act as cover.
