[Archived] News Article -> Shebby Confirms Fans Will Not Be Ejected For "Kean Out" Chanting

Recommended Posts

Rovers' global advisor Shebby Singh confirmed to BRFCS chief reporter Kamy after his interview with BRFCS yesterday that, contrary to reports, fans would not be ejected from Ewood Park for chanting "Kean Out".

When reports were circling earlier this week that stewards had been tasked with ejecting anyone instigating crowd chants against the manager, BRFCS contacted Rovers' operations director Paul Agnew for clarification of the situation, but our questions went unanswered. However, after yesterday's exclusive interview with the global advisor, Shebby was asked for clarification to which he responded that there was no intention to eject fans for anti-Kean chants.

Whether or not these instructions have been passed on to the stewards is of interest to BRFCS, although it should also be noted that anything that causes annoyance to others attending the match constitutes grounds for ejection under the ground regulations.

Saturday's game at Portman Road saw some amazing support from the fans, with very little anti-Kean or anti-Venky's chanting, the fans instead focusing on backing the team. However, the pre-season game against Accrington Stanley saw several fans claiming they were ejected for airing their views on the manager. Co-owner Balaji Rao was present at the Ipswich game and both Balaji and brother Venkatesh were present at tonight's game against Hull City.

Despite widespread boycotting of home games until Kean's reign is over, ticket sales for tonight's game were reported by the official Rovers twitter account to be around 11,000 with some 9,000 of those being season ticket holders. The attendance was just over 13,000 for the first home game of the season.
