The fine line between "wit" and "halfwit!"

I just conentrate on myself personally as you've failed to pick any argument in what I've suggested then can I assume your agreement? Yes or No will suffice.

Got a number of Shebby sometime ago to try ...

It is Sunday!

Whilst having no idea what you are asking Ian Battersby or John Williams for that matter do you really expect either to divulge information to you?

Or is it to be able to say you tried and both of them failed?

Which you have already intimated re Seneca.

Stick to bring a brick accountant.

I was just tickled about how you effectively posted your CV on a public internet forum, before stating "I'm a private person." My post wasn't a pop at you, just a simple "emoticon" to express my genuine reaction.

Your performance since has been equally amusing, for different reasons.

I haven't to be honest, my circle doesn't rely on an internet platform. You've not said what you do

No surprise to me I put my cards solely on the table, no ego that's me. If you don't like that's your issue. Sure those in WMC when i commute up there could confirm that.

Correct it's not but let's see your cards Asia... Let's not hide, what your doing in Thailand etc if i may question?

I will, football Saturday's for me is something me and my old man, brothers enjoy. I'm Blackburn they are Wigan and respectively we watch 90 mins but more than anything enjoy the time we have together which is very very rare.

Sometimes as i've learnt you need to decide practicality from emotion.

Retired now since my late 50s. Turned OAP the same day this year we got relegated.:(

Ex Banking then Intl Sales/Marketing in Insurance. Spent years around Middle and Far East and chose the Land of Smiles for retirement.

A Rover since a kid via my Dad. Passed the Rover DNA on to one Son the other supports Spuds!

I always came back at least twice a year and would take in  6 to 8 games. Haven't been to Ewood since 2011... and miss it. Might be tempted next season God willing.

Once a Rover always a Rover.:rover:

I look forward to your posts and an argument or two:D

Not sure if it has been mentioned in another thread, but Nicko on twitter is saying that Rovers have appointed 2 of the big accounting firms to go in and work out how much costs are needed to be saved and where.

The bill for that is going to run into the hundreds of thousands.

Sounds like the club is going to be run as if it is in administration, just by another name

Strange isn't it, big money to bring in consultants, not enough money to appoint a proper board.

I charge £750+ per day plus expenses.

I can tell them for a fiver what they need to do.

This sort of thing worries me greatly.

I will not be suprised if matters start moving towards an end game.

Club Staff and Suppliers, Corporate and STs should all be concerned.

Put it this way - I would be in no rush to buy a ST.

The Club just has to issue a statement NOW.

Why has it taken until mid-May to bring people in to assess the ramifications of relegation?

Surely if you employ a finance director part of his job is to look at the probable outcome of the season and have a thought out contingency plan in place to put into action as soon as relegation is confirmed?

Surely this should have been done in any event, so that even if you didn't expect relegation, we would have a plan to deal with it if it happened. In our case we were looking over our shoulders all last season and have been bottom 3 all season, surely the accountants could have assessed things over the last few months.

But it takes time to put together a PowerPoint and read it all through to yourself, especially if you do those fun animations, fades etc. Endless possibilities. Actually create a business plan, why? Just have lots of figures whirling around in pretty colours and hope nobody notices they're are totally fictitious

Interesting that the two rumours happened in the order they have. Tax raids in India, accountants head to Ewood...

I think they are from the bank.

however I've been at a company before and shortly before the administration process happened new accountants arrived for a few weeks to ascertain the position of the company accounts prior to the engagement and appointment of a administrator.

If things like corporate equivalents of payday loans are true, cash is clearly extremely short.

Probably the Cheston begging bowl for enough to see Rovers through the summer has been met by Pune sending these accountants.

Companies are free to operate bank accounts during tax raids (usually) but any movement of cash offshore during a raid is regarded as more than doubly suspicious.

The first thing you do when hit by a raid is pull your own external accountants and lawyers in as your own people have next to no experience of something like this. Probably Cheston's begging letter was uniquely badly timed (we know Madam hates bad news so she almost certainly only receives "it is so bad that we have no alternative" rather than "be aware but these are the consequences if..." type communication from Ewood).

A "we can't pay the wages in May" letter was probably read by one of the external accountants who then put his own people into Ewood. A typical engagement letter for accountants during a tax raid includes an "act as necessary" clause because time is of the essence if one of your 40 branch managers has just owned up to something nefarious...
