Raya; Nyambe, Ward, Mulgrew, Williams; Chapman, Smallwood, Evans, Bennett; Graham Samuel before Mercerman made his prediction.

Let's hope we smash them now or Tony may have made a rod for his own back

I estimate TM wants at least a point on the board as a priority and to get us up and running.

He will realise after last week and last season what a poor start will do to the confidence of players and fans.

You don't usually come away with a point if you set out to get just one.

From my seat in the family stand it doesn't look any emptier than last season; maybe this stand is much worse though

Looking better so far compared to last week at Southend. Passing it around fairly nicely on the ground, but no end product so far.

Still not entirely sure what the formation is... looks like 3-4-2-1, with Graham up front and Bennett and Whittingham in support.

I'm not sure what we're trying to do and neither are the players.

This seems a needlessly over-complicated system with lots of sideways passes and not a lot of penetration or even attempted killer balls. Barely attempting to stick crosses in. All very weird.
