Only thing I would add to Madon's excellent updates (saved me a job of trying to sum the night up) is that Dave Beresford (Safety bloke) said the Burnley incidents have been dealt with by courts.

Don't know if that's stadium ban or prison or whatever.

Basically concluded that Mowbray is one of us, and I don't say that lightly. He prompted applause when he talked about the need for integrity and open communication.

'I would be frustrated as well' in relation to the last 7 years as a fan.

After reeling off a list of our players he said he'd deserve to be sacked if we don't get promoted. 'I want to be a part of this club's history'. He also talked about potentially 'bouncing straight through' the Championship. He's certainly ambitious.

Made a rod for his own back in some respects but such is the passion and logic (he says a lot of things that fans have said on here) I believe he's 100% on 'our side'.

Admits Gladwin has been poor, says he has ability to beat 4 men and smash it in the net.. we've not seen the best of him, we've seen the worst of him.

Hold on !

How many times has Gladwin achieved such a feat in his career to come out with this I'll stop myself here. ?

Gladwin was playing in the Southern Counties league 3 years ago. Probably did it there once or twice.

January budget not discussed, has money left over from summer budget.. wanted to sign a mobile central defender but drifted away.

He's only met owners once.

A mobile central defender wow no shot does that mean the defender can run ?

Wow what a guy !

To add some meat on the 'Mike Rigg' bones:

On a short term contract as a consultant re: player recruitment. Mowbray sees our scouting system (chief scout and group of scouts) as too old school.

He wants to move to a system where aspiring graduates are used to focus on particular leagues and do the scouting via online media/streams etc, and using these to compile lists of targets, ideally 10 for each position. These reports can then be used to explain to prospective transfers the exact role expected of them or to explain the plan to owners etc; so that scouting is more integral to the club identity rather than merely 'get someone in'.

He used the 'jigsaw' metaphor of if he's looking for a fullback (at which point he raved about the Bury left back), he'd look at our winger.

Eg: If our winger prefers to cut in, we'd need a full back willing to roam forward and stay wide. (My own example: Bentley and Emerton)

If our winger is 'out and out' and doesn't really defend, we'd need a full back more defensively minded who would support the winger without overlapping. (My own example: Pedersen and Givet).

Back to Mowbray, he also talked about how Conway and Bennett are his main men in the dressing room (which I feel bodes well, as senior players with great attitudes, as well as being players who were already here).

He also stated that Dack should be something special as the season progresses.

No. Read what I put. He's referring to a more modern system using available online resources (similar to how the Football Manager games work, I suppose) instead of sending a bloke to watch one game.

Another added point: He name dropped Nuttall, Grayson and Harecastle most often which suggests to me they are the ones nearer the first team in his mind.

He also mentioned Travis on a number of occasions along with Nuttall, Hardcastle and Grayson.  From what he said he knew Rigg before and wants some help in modernising the scouting department.  Interesting that he had spoken to Mr. Desai about this and sounded like he was looking to work with the owners to improve the standing of the club.  He emphasised that he could see things from the point of view of the fans but also fully understood why the owners don't turn up to matches or events like tonight.  He seems to have a good grasp of the situation and seems our best hope for progress.

You seem besotted by Travis so must ask what's he got that can help the first team parsons ?

Haven't seen you play Mike E but I'd have thought your better than Graysons chunky young lad.

How twisted can stats be in football, sideways and backwards ? Do the agents control these stats ?

Sounds like the footballing IQ at the club is still way too low for Blackburn Rovers.

Like a scouser on four hundred words per minute of pure shyte about football !

Quote

MC on KPMG and Deloitte: "They were brought in to look at independent efficiencies.

"At the time when the owners said they were going to do this, with two sets of firms, I thought it would have been a lot of work.

"I was sceptical what they were going to tell us that we did not already konw.

"But having gone through the process we found a lot of value came out of and many of their recommendations proved to be what we had already found.

"There was a big overlap of the two firms and there were no criticisms of how the club is being run."

Money well spent then  no criticism of how the club is being run. OK. I guess payday loans to get through the season is a great way to do things after all.

Another pointless exercise with the clubs owners once again sticking two fingers up to the authorities by ignoring the very reason this tick box exercise was setup in the first place.

Why fans are not refusing to go and making a statement in the press is beyond me, we know plenty will still attend, starry eyed dreamers and all that, but the supporters groups should put out a joint statement and refuse to go until owners or that laughing clown agree to attend.

If the fans want a Q&A with the manager ask for one, this isn't that forum, and TM attendance is simply to fill up time on the agenda.

A complete sham.

Agreed.

The only thing to come out of this meeting is that the owners make the managerial decisions. This is contrary the interviews made by Cheston to the LT after Coyle was appointed.

Statements made away from the pitch seem to be, we paid 2 companies a lot of money to make 5 a handful of staff redundant; although we are in massive debt, the fans shouldn't worry as we owe it to the incompetent people who ran up the debt, that the owners are both really interested, but aren't going to come to games, and that no one at the club has any real responsibilities.

Time for the fans to force those making decisions about the club, to at least turn up to a meeting. Instead as Gav says, it's all a-ok coz Tony turned up and answered a few questions.
