Going back to 1 upfront, after 2 fantastic wins, would be criminal in my eyes. Thankfully he's not. We need to take it to Scunthorpe, rather than worrying about them!

Tormund Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 I would be a bit annoyed if he's changing around formations, just keep it simple like we did at Rochdale.

I haven't seen Harper apart from his cameo for West Bromwich, can help play wide?It definitely looks to be a change of formation
J*B Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 He's only gone and done that bloody 352 again.

AdamRochina Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 We struggle tonight it's all on Mowbray

Ward,Mulgrew and Williams with Bennett and caddis wing backs or Caddis 1 of the 3 at the back with Williams and Bennett wing backs? Why is he switching to 3 at the back, why change what's working!
tugayislegend Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 Got a bad feeling about this one, with the tinkering formation....only 1 winger bennett, playing wingback?
Give 'Em the Axe Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 My trepidation from earlier has turned into full on pessimism. I don't fancy us with this 3 at the back carry on. Would love, love, love to be proven wrong...
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 Definitely not the team I would have chosen. Looks like a 4-4-2 again to me. Raya Caddis , Ward, Mulgrew, Williams Harper, Evans , Smallwood, Bennett, Samuel, Antonnson. I have a bad feeling about that line up. I wouldn't have chosen Harper or Antonnson to start.
RV Blue Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 If he was playing with 3 at the back, Downing would be playing and Williams would be playing lwb.
davulsukur Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 If he has indeed switched to a back 3, it's a needless risk on Mowbrays part. If he has done and we get beat, the knives (maybe rightly so) will be out tonight.

If we are playing three at the back then why isn't Downing starting as one of the 3?Hope to be proven wrong but am fearing another Southend or Doncaster tonight

Give 'Em the Axe Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 Dunno mate, just going off other people's interpretation of the starting XI. Southend/Doncaster is exactly what's in my mind, too. Knock wood there'll be sterner stuff on display. This Harper kid had want to be bloody good and up for a battle given that this is one of toughest fixtures so far this season.
Preben Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 I don't expect this to be popular but win, lose or draw tonight I am certain that the manager knows his players and the opposition far better than anyone on here

Seems to be conventional 4-4-2 with Harper for Conway the only surprise seeing as Mulgrew is fit again and therefore certain to replace Dowling. Excited that Mowbray thinks Harper is ready.

From what I've read which ok isn't the same as seeing but Harper isn't a wide player if it is 4-4-2 would rather have seen Chapman start who is a natural wide player and guarantees width

Too many " football manager " gamers who haven't actually got a clue.

Could potentially see a 433 with Samuel and Bennet either side of Antonsson if Harper goes in the middle also. I think Mowbray knows the league, so I'm guessing this lad is a bit good...
HowieFive0 Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 Maybe TM has seen a chink in Scunnys team which we havent ?
bazza Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 Maybe WBA have told TM to play Harper or we take him back.

That was my initial thought until it was said it was 3 at the back. But I'm not keen on that either as Samuel looks better through the middle
