2 and a half year deal.

On the short side for a 21 year old, his injury record putting the club off a longer one?

You can imagine that if he proves himself in next 12 months then he will get a new deal

Not sure how Boro are in a position to be demanding big sell on clauses.

The compensation we’d have paid at the end of the season would include a 20% sell on clause as standard - I’m assuming that will be the percentage included in this deal.

“He needs to do a lot of work on his body, so I don’t think we’ll see him for a while. I don’t think he’s even fit enough to go out on loan. We will be getting him ready for the intensity to play for us.”

? Sticking around, then?

“Harry’s got attributes and assets that our team will utilise moving forward," the boss revealed to iFollow Rovers after clinching his first signing of the January transfer window.

“He has blistering speed on the transition, can run past a man one on one and create opportunities for us.

“He’s still only young, he’s only 21, but he hasn’t played as much football as he’d have liked in his career.

“I like what he brings, that’s why he’s here. I work with him every day and I know that youthfulness.

“The key is to use his attributes at the right moments.

“He needs to do a lot of work on his body, so I don’t think we’ll see him for a while. I don’t think he’s even fit enough to go out on loan. We will be getting him ready for the intensity to play for us.

“I’m delighted he’s here and here for the long-term. Let’s not rush him, so when he is right he can contribute at his maximum."

Absolutely over the moon with Chappers coming back as long as he hasn't been brought in simply  to sit on the bench or go out on loan.

Once match fit, could you imagine Chapman and BA in tthe starting line up? We'd look a completely different proposition and the play offs wpuld become a realistic possibility as opposed to a bit of a pipe dream.

Doesn’t exactly sound promising does it?

He's not gonna be match fit is he, doesn't LOOK in awful shape though, bit skinny if anything but he was never muscle bound. He'll be good for a few cameos before ya know it

Mowbray.......

“He needs to do a lot of work on his body, so I don’t think we’ll see him for a while. I don’t think he’s even fit enough to go out on loan."

So we can forget about Chapman for this season then

Another one for the "future" and absolutely no help to the possible promotion push.

Disappointing

For the season? He has played games for Boro this season - recently in fact. Is he fit to be starting regularly? Perhaps not but come on man, no need to put a dampener on this.

Very smart man management by Mowbray. Reassures the side which slaughtered Hull, keeps Conway hopeful and throws down a challenge to Chapman.

Pulis always kept Stoke players whippet fit if I remember correctly so I doubt he is doing any different at Boro. That said the medical staff might have a different view on conditioning to avoid injuries.

'd love to be happy clappy about this but I'm only quoting the manager. "He's not fit enough even to go out on loan," says Mowbray. I
