FT: Kilmarnock 0-2 Ross County

Steven Thompson

Former Scotland striker on BBC Sportsound

I worked with him at Burnley and Owen Coyle is the best man-manager I have worked with and the boys at Ross County would have got a lift from him coming in

Arse End of Scotland?!? Have you never been to Dingwall?

It's a lovely wee town, but with a chip on it's shoulder 'cos the much bigger, more important, more beautiful capital of the Highlands is only a few miles away ;). The town is about the size of Garstang, but with a SPL football team, less money and no Booths.

The County fans, however, are genuine die-hard fans, loyal and passionate. They've got a nice wee stadium and they're a 'real' club and they don't deserve the chimp man feeding their players doughnuts and not bothering to organise their defence.

I wasn't belittling the club. Their achievement is extraordinary. However small they are, they are bigger than their manager.

A betting man could make a good few quid out of studying the form of Coyles teams and betting on them to gradually get worse after his appointment and consistently lose games after selections and tactics almost guarantee it.

He manages the most 'unlucky' teams in world football it seems .........

More nonsense from Bullshit man blaming everybody except himself. Good to see the serial loser in his rightful place in one of the relegation places.

I still feel insulted by the 'outstanding candidate' managing our club.

The thing that amazes me is how did he get Burnley promoted ? He's failed at every other club he's been at since then.

Practically all long term managers, even the bad ones, manage to get a success somewhere. Whether that's a mixture of good fortune or performing above themselves or right place at the right time is up for debate but it often happens. For example Ince did well at Macclesfield and MK the first time round. Terrible manager but he managed to be a success in that instance. Moyes Imo may be another example bombed since leaving Everton but did well there. Although with west ham doing ok it's perhaps not a great example but the point stands.

A Coyle out thread has begun on the Ross County fans forum "over the bridge" questioning tactics. Took less than 3 months.

No doubt it's because a number of things have gone against them but they've been playing magnificently trying to pass and move and on another day.........

That really could be any of the Rovers, Houston, Wigan forums over the last few years he's just rinse and repeat Coyle. Like I said a betting man could make good money on wherever he pitches up being a lot worse than they were within a couple of months of his stewardship the man really is a shocker.

One or two saying give him a couple of windows but someone ought to warn them all he'll do is get some of his pals lads on the books before he inevitably gets sacked anyway, it's a right racket !

Cheston should have been sacked on the spot for his insulting fans intelligence with his handling of that one.

& most of them are saying 'wtf are you talking about, give him time ffs!!' Shows that your average football fan is utterly clueless.

A result that keeps them rooted to the bottom. Next game up is a six pointer against their relegation rivals.

A bit of a problem for the chubby red top guesser/Coyle fanboy then. As a lifelong Partick fan who does he root for?

No real surprise there. Jobs for the boys.

Giles Barnes, Eagles etc they'd have been the ones through the doors here if he'd got the chance last Jan never mind the more sensible names linked. Coyle was on a mission here and building a decent team wasn't it but by some twist of fate he was pals with Mulgrews agent I suppose so that one worked out although you can bet there was a twist to it somewhere as to why it got done. Probably an agreement to get Elvis hater off their books as well at the same time.

Quality is quality though at the end of the day, no rocket science there just the willingness to pay good wages to a good player who actually was hungry to move and prove himself down here.

A post on the LT comments section underneath the Simon Smith article:-

"Allegedly Stokes used some players to move money about from his Irish account to his British account so the courts can't take it off him. Allegedly Coyle turned a blind eye. Allegedly TM didn't and those players were ostracised and Stokes hastily moved on. The man is poison and another thing to blame Coyle for"

embarrassing that this gets any air time on here. FFS we are trying to mount a promotion campaign with a moderate man at the helm and the worst owners ever know in football.

Can we not justmove on from this total rubbish? Who would actually  give one if Ross County collapse into the sea???
