I was upset 're Maradona, however I'm not sure that he got quite the same reaction in Argentina?

Exactly, there's variations/ bending the rules, that's all I'm advocating.

Deliberately getting yourself booked to gain an advantage isn't just a bit of gamesmanship like walking off the pitch a bit slowly its downright cheating and I'm sure players have been fined and suspended in the PL or EFL for that.

Martinez apparently said before the game the priority "was not to win the match." That can be taken either of 2 ways

1) The priority is to make sure we get beaten or

2 ) Whilst we want to win the game the main priority is not the result but giving everyone a game etc.

If Martinez meant the first one he should be charged with bringing the game into disrepute and heavily fined. Either way If Belgium do finish second I now hope they get absolutely stuffed by Colombia and Don't even reach the perceived easier half of the draw.

Going forward, if teams aren't going to play the game in the spirit it was intended I can't see any alternative to draw the names out of a hat after the group stages as Adam Rochina said.

Well, it was predicted that Belgium would play 'not to loose'. If they are this scared of Japan and Brazil - maybe all their stars aren't quite as good as some people think? ?

England as guilty as the Belgians at not playing to win, whoever finishes second deserves a trashing by Colombia on the evidence of the first half

Belgium even created more.

With the stupid yellow card count coming into play does anybody know how it works with red cards?

Might not matter now as Belgium have just scored.

Red card is 4 points, a booking is 1

How about 2 yellows leading to a red?

1 point for a yellow card

3 points for two yellow cards

4 points for a straight red card

5 points for a yellow card, then a straight red card

Jesus better in nets, good at saving...

It's not too bad so far. No team seems that great/bothered, and we should have equalised . . . so, it's kind of like an unembarrassing B team defeat so far.

This game’s crap let’s eat the seats.

You should be playing the Poor Man's Heskey drinking game.

It makes everything so much better, hic!
