philipl Posted December 15, 2017 Posted December 15, 2017 Really pleased for the lad for the way he is taking his opportunity. Quote

Let’s hope he can get himself to the Premier League one day. At this moment in his career it’s probably best he finds a new chapter in his career.” You'd think we'd just offer him a new contract and loan him out instead of just getting rid. Obviously the 'personal problems' are still there. Quote

tomphil Posted December 22, 2018 Posted December 22, 2018 Once a Dingle always a Dingle, by the sounds of it the club have stood by him long enough so let him go and count his fingers and toes elsewhere it looks like he's blown it here. Quote

BlackburnEnd75 Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 Nothing I’ve seen from Tomlinson suggests he’s going ever going to be good enough to start games in the championship. Quote
RoverCanada Posted December 23, 2018 Posted December 23, 2018 (edited) It might have been our FA Cup loss to Hull last year where I (and I think many others) saw that Tomlinson was pretty badly exposed after a few decent sub cameos. That would've been his first start against non-lower league competition. You obviously don't want to judge a young player too quickly, but I remember being surprised at how bad he looked. (Or I may be thinking of his sub appearances against Northampton or Rochdale...?) Travis outshone him soon after and he only managed that short sub against Lincoln since. Add in apparent off-field issues and this really isn't all that surprising. Hope it works out for him, and maybe we can get a minor fee + sell-on. Edited December 23, 2018 by RoverCanada 1 Quote

arbitro Posted November 30, 2020 Posted November 30, 2020 I was half watching Police Interceptors on Channel Five and the police pulled over a driver on suspicion of being over the limit. My ears pricked up when he said he played for Mansfield Town. When I looked closely it was Willem Tomlinson and he was over the limit. He was fined and banned from driving for twelve months. 2 Quote
windymiller7 Posted November 30, 2020 Posted November 30, 2020 And now only worthy of a place on Chorley's subs bench along with Adam Henley. Just goes to show how wrong everything can go & how quickly if you don't have the right mindset. 5 Quote
tomphil Posted December 1, 2020 Posted December 1, 2020 Would that pair have ever got into our side or near it if we weren't being run by clowns though ? I don't think either were ever anymore than lower level ability anyway. Quote
