I seem to recall putting one of her songs on repeat in Salvador Dali’s on the 14th May 1995.

Cormac McCarthy, America's Pulitzer Prize-winning author - has died aged 89.

Brilliant doesn’t even start to describe his work, No country for old men being one such masterpiece.

For me Blood Meridian was his masterpiece, a brutal and blood soaked look at violence, human nature and the old west. A true master of the English language, I used to look words up in the dictionary as I read.

John Hollins, ex Chelsea player and manager, 76.

Very good player who was unlucky to be playing when we had loads of good players in his position. Howard Kendall, Brian O’Neil, Tony Kay - hardly got a cap between them.

Surprised nobody has mentioned the passing of Sinead O’Connor. Not really my cup of tea but undoubtedly an influential artist, and very young to die, 56.

I have a list of celebrities who died in 2020. There are 55 of them; only the ones I had heard of, out of the many more. It's fascinating how many are film and TV stars, Bond movies' stars and loads of footballers.

If anyone wants me to list them I will, if I can find the time and if the Mods approve.

Randy Meiser (Eagles, Poco etc) also passed on the 26th July.

I never tire of listening to him sing.
